NUMBER OF ROOMS
This is a great place to stay if you need accommodation in Headington. It is situated a little way out of central Oxford, but there are brilliant transport connections to Oxford or London just minutes from the door. The interior of the guest is very modern and clean, and although my room was very small it contained everything that I required. However I did experience one of my very worst night sleep experience on my first night of my stay. I was woken twice after midnight by another guest having an extensive conversation on speaker , for over forty minutes. the guest , in the room above me, discussed at length family issues with his telephone pal. When the conversation concluded he thought that 3am was a great time to watch tv! there is nobody on site to contact, so I am dubious about their claim of sound proofing. My other concern was with regards to breakfast, it does offer an extensive menu and is very good, but unfortunately the timings are off. I was unaware that they state breakfast is served from 7:30am when I booked. I had also emailed before my stay stating I would need an early breakfast due to my work commencing at 8am and the response noted this. It was disappointing at the least when the staff ,including manager did not arrive until 7.40 on a couple of mornings, so it was a real let down for them not to be ready to serve at 7.30 am. the service was incredibly frustrating and as it was paid for br the JR Hospital I could not change after the first night of hell! …
Stayed for two nights in February and its good value for money. Very comfortable room with soothing interior design. Quite satisfactory services. Calm and quite environ with direct access to public transport.
I visited The Oxford Guest House while my husband was having a serious operation at the John Radcliffe hospital. The staff at the guest house were very kind, sympathetically extending my stay at short notice. The guesthouse itself is very comfortable with a warm room, lovely bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Even though my room was at the front it was quiet at night. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and with an ample choice of cereal and fruit. It was within walking distance of the hospital and near plenty of restaurants and shops and an ideal location for getting into Oxford. We'll definitely stay there when we visit Oxford again.
I had two visits for work and if I ever have to go back in the Headington area, I will make sure I stay there. The room was really nice and comfortable - not huge but as I was at work all day it did not matter. Nice furniture and the breakdast is really really nice! All was smooth.
Stayed here for two nights and would definitely come again. Warm, friendly welcome on arrival. Clean, quiet room with large en-suite bathroom and comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast and a good choice of food. Really good value for money overall. Lots of shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways nearby and easy links to the city centre. Just what I needed!
