Newley House is just slightly off the beaten Oxford track, but in fact very close to all central activities, including visiting Colleges, museums, restaurants and cafés, shopping. The atmosphere is casual and studious; the room we had was spacious and comfortable, with a good bathroom; and breakfast (an additional £10 charge pp) tasty, varied and generous. A good alternative to... More

Very quiet and convenient central location. Rooms are clean well equipped but not overly luxurious. Excellent buffet breakfast and convivial common room. Fellow guests very interesting to talk to. At about one third the price of the Randolph which is near by it has to be a serious choice for a night or two in Oxford.

A reasonable place to stay in a city that has become very expensive with regard to hotels. The rooms are quite basic but do have coffee (etc.) making facilities. I had an external bathroom but only soap was provided, plus no amount of twiddling could get any hot water to come out of the shower in the morning. Reception staff... More

Location could not be better. Some rooms are quite a way away from the main building but we got lucky and ended up in Wellington Sq. That said do ask for a room away from front doors and on upper levels. Ours wasn't and hence was noisy at times. Also could hear next door and room above. Pot luck on... More

The location is really good, it is very close to the city centre and walking-distance from train station. The single room (with bathroom) was small but was clean. They provided tea, coffee, kettle and hair dryer. Upon arrival I reported to the main reception and they gave me the code and keys to the house where my room was. Wi-fi... More

The Hotel is in a great position in the centre of Oxford! the room was quite clean, the furniture were essential. Excellent quality-price relation. I avoid to book the breakfast because it was too expensive.

The rooms are in a typical english house of several floors.Room was clean, but basic. The bathroom, is outside the room, as in any ordinary house, which is ok. The buildings are located in a quiet square, but you will be able to hear everyone going up the stairs and getting into their rooms. As Oxford is not a big... More

The main building is on St John then many of the rooms are in a series of terraced house on Wellington Sq. These rooms vary a fair amount from basement rooms to lift ones. My single room was ok though the toilet was down the hall. Walls very thin so noisy but the kind of people who stay here tend... More

The location is good. We stayed at 37 wellington sq. The room was very clean and tidy. Tea and coffee facilities provided and free wifi. The bed was hard but I find this standard when travelling but the pillows were a waste of time. The room had a low ceiling so not for a tall person like myself banging my... More

Rewley House is owned by the University, and offers good, simple, basic accommodation at less than half the price of Oxford’s posh hotels. It is the kind of room one would expect for good student accommodation – very adequate, reasonably spacious, although not luxurious. The location is excellent, well within easy walking distance of Oxford’s city centre. My single room... More
