I was a bit concerned when I first learned we were booked here because on the website it looked vey much like a dorm rather than a hotel. It is in fact a nice clean and quiet place to sleep off of a pretty square in the heart of Oxford. My room had 2 twin beds but while small my... More

A most horrible place to stay in Oxford, such a beautiful city and then as you get to hotel from the very outside its disappointment. Shabbiest rooms, not even basic amenities, no service what so ever, they make you lift your bags on staircases which are designed only for a person to barely walk, open 3 locks to get to... More

Oxford isn't the cheapest place to stay, so if you are looking for a relatively low cost option for a couple of nights, this isn't a bad shout. The rooms are essentially University accommodation where they have put a TV and towels in the room. Overall, quite basic, but it does the job. The breakfast was good, but at £11,... More

Stayed here for one night. The rooms are large and very comfortable with everything you need, spotlessly clean. Its a halls of residence so not a hotel - but dont let that put you off. Very central and in a lovely square. Also its nice and quiet!

Newley House is just slightly off the beaten Oxford track, but in fact very close to all central activities, including visiting Colleges, museums, restaurants and cafés, shopping. The atmosphere is casual and studious; the room we had was spacious and comfortable, with a good bathroom; and breakfast (an additional £10 charge pp) tasty, varied and generous. A good alternative to... More

Very quiet and convenient central location. Rooms are clean well equipped but not overly luxurious. Excellent buffet breakfast and convivial common room. Fellow guests very interesting to talk to. At about one third the price of the Randolph which is near by it has to be a serious choice for a night or two in Oxford.

A reasonable place to stay in a city that has become very expensive with regard to hotels. The rooms are quite basic but do have coffee (etc.) making facilities. I had an external bathroom but only soap was provided, plus no amount of twiddling could get any hot water to come out of the shower in the morning. Reception staff... More

Location could not be better. Some rooms are quite a way away from the main building but we got lucky and ended up in Wellington Sq. That said do ask for a room away from front doors and on upper levels. Ours wasn't and hence was noisy at times. Also could hear next door and room above. Pot luck on... More

The location is really good, it is very close to the city centre and walking-distance from train station. The single room (with bathroom) was small but was clean. They provided tea, coffee, kettle and hair dryer. Upon arrival I reported to the main reception and they gave me the code and keys to the house where my room was. Wi-fi... More

The Hotel is in a great position in the centre of Oxford! the room was quite clean, the furniture were essential. Excellent quality-price relation. I avoid to book the breakfast because it was too expensive.
