We visited the Malmaison at Oxford Castle on a beautiful sunny weekend, the surroundings were stunning and there is so much to do in the quarters that you needn't go anywhere else ! The hotel was interesting however the rooms are rather small for the price. We paid for the top suite as we had two young boys with us... More

We decided to splash out a bit to stay at this hotel rather than a couple of cheaper options. We took advantage of a Wine and Dine offer and a Tequila Sunrise (cocktail and breakfast) offer. The hotel was nice, comfortable rooms and a unique location and well themed throughout. My main issue was that we had to keep the... More

5 minutes walk from Oxford said school, and the Oxford train station. Is right next to the Oxford castle and center. Host of restaurants and cafes on site. Lovely renovated rooms which give you a sense of the place it used to be. Clean, service is great. Everything is taken care of. Stored check out also possible.... Must go

Booked the hotel for a 20th wedding anniversary. Informed them well in advance that I would like to make it special, they assured me it would be. Unfortunately other than a card, no special effort was made. Obviously I was disappointed so I ordered a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket to be placed in my room at 10pm... More

Really enjoyed our stay at Malmaison for our ten year wedding anniversary. The two free cocktails were a lovely touch. Nice quirky hotel and staff were very attentive, would stay again. Shame that the parking was expensive but we used the park and ride at Seacourt which was very easy and the bus stopped right outside the hotel.

We were not staying in this hotel, we just popped in for a drink at the hotel bar. I have honestly never experienced such an appalling customer service we got from the barman. He looked like we are annoying him just being there, he refused to make an eye contact and he always answered all our questions with one word.... More

We were very disappointed with this hotel after reading about it. The actual hotel which was a prison is lovely but the staff need to be fired! On arrival the receptionist thought we had 2 rooms booked. She was unprofessional and dithered about . We then needed directions for the bus tour she didn't know her left from her right.... More

We returned here for a special occasion recently. Unfortunately when we arrived we discovered that there was a wedding on in the hotel and that the cocktail bar was closed to the public. When i raised this i was advised that it's very rarely open to the public now as it's used for functions a lot. I find this concerning... More

We were in a room in the new wing. Overall we were impressed with the room, but the lighting is far from adequate. Practicality should be the most important consideration in an hotel room. The shower cubicle was very small, which bearing in mind the spacious bathroom was irritating.

We decided to have a quite weekend off as we works seven days a week, we have high standards when it comes to hotels and restaurants, and always go for the best we can afford as we see it as a reward for working hard. We picked the Malmaison after a long search on the internet, as it seemed interesting... More
