Having read some of the reviews I was expecting a horrid place, but it was really rather nice. Yes, the decor is dated and yes, the wifi is a bit patchy but this hotel has a lot going for it. Firstly the free parking was a huge bonus as it is almost impossible to find a hotel with parking in... More

WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! (and i have stayed in hostels) The owner could hardly speak English so he completely messed up our reservation. Then he tried to charge us an extra $95 a night to fix his mistake. The stairs were small and hard to carry my luggage up, and the owner stood and watched me struggle... More

The hotel is old. Reception is not welcome. My room is on second floor, catpet is dirty, bed is not comfortable. Shower room door cannot fully close. Waterflow is weak. Avoid room facing the street, noise from car running may wake you up during the night. However, full English breakfast is passable. Totally not recommend.

After reading many bad reviews about this hotel, we were pleasantly surprised to find it bright and cheerful. It ticked all my criteria for booking the Victoria: convenient for the city centre - a very pleasant 10 minute walk to the Thames bridge, or there is a bus stop close by which takes you all the way to all that... We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is great 10 minutes walk to the middle of town . There are several small pubs within 200 mths walk that serve great meals. The staff are very friendly and the rooms clean with everything we needed. The breakfast was fantastic served freshly cooked and hot. Very comfy hotel that... More

I did not like this "hotel" because: - There were insects in the room (I captured one and showed it to the receptionist); - The bed clothes had holes in them (they were old and worn); - The mattress protector was deeply soiled (with dark brown marks); - The TV was broken (it turned on but there weren't any channels);... This hotel is old and strange. A father and his son (probably) run this hotel in their own unique way. The old man is rude to a lot of guests, (I saw him being rude to people who are not fluent in English) He is not an inviting person. The son is nice, and he is helpful. Only is vocabulary... More

Location reasonable with a 20 min walk into town and parking at hotel dated hotel with NO soundproofing at all from corridor or other rooms. Very badly let down by the 75 year old Owner who has a very unusual and unpleasant service manner - He should not be in the hospitality business. The Son realises this and is hampered... More

We have just got back home from a 2 night stay at the Victoria Hotel. I advise anyone wanting to stay in Oxford not to choose this place. Pay more money and stay some where more comfortable. On arrival i spoke to the owner behind the desk, obviously i was wearing my invisible women outfit. He completely ignored me and... More
