Three flights of stairs to reach a tiny front desk. No bar or restaurant on premises although you are in the middle of downtown Oxford so can eat anywhere. If you really care to stay in the busy downtown area, I suspect you can do better. Rooms are clean but otherwise not well appointed. Large bathroom has a tiny corner... More

Don't be fooled by their advertising as a 4-stars boutique hotel. It is beyond me how they got 4 stars, but this is basically a small house where 5-6 rooms are rented out to customers who mistakenly take this for an actual hotel. No breakfast will be served, and you'll only have a small room (likely with a single bed).... More

This hotel is old, has a lot of stairs and reflects its age. The room was small and not modern. However, it is right in the middle of the city. Near the Oxford school of Business, train station, bus station and Oxford visitor center. The location made it easy to get around and explore. The staff was very helpful and... More

My issue is the price just for a room, in a upstairs area that has no facilities like a hotel. The quality of the room is good, but very hot, you need to use the air con, but that is just it, does it warrant £175.00 per night charge, don't think so. I do feel that I have been mislead... More

I stayed here from the 31st may - 2nd June. Not the cheapest of rooms but a nice clean hotel with an excellent location. The small reception is on the first floor up some narrow stairs so access may be an issue for some. No breakfast included, but there are loads of great places to eat very close by. The... More

I wanted to spend a night with my wife and little baby in Oxford and thought The Bocardo was a good location. Great mistake! It is 44 steps above street level and there is no lift. I do not travel with a Sherpa to carry my luggage so I had to pull all the bags, and baby trolley up two... More

Great customer service. Handy to have suitcases delivered to room, rather than lug up several flights of stairs. Room very clean with all necessities. Plenty of eating places close by. Lots of street noise at night, but double glazing of windows helped. Would be nice to have fresh air though...cant have it both ways.

Pleasant little room onto of Jamie's Italian - great location, but not a hotel - more like a small rented room for the night. Nothing to complain about but a little misleading. Easy to find, book and check out so overall happy with the experience

I stayed here last weekend with some girlfriends. Not the cheapest stay, but a good clean hotel in a great location. The Bocardo is approx 10-15 minutes easy walk from the train station, round the corner from the bus/coach station and across the road from the park and ride bus stop. The small reception is on the first floor up... More

I had read previous reviews which said about the noise and thought, no, it can't be that bad.... Well I could not have been more wrong... It was worse....room overlooked the main road opposite a night club and a variety of pubs and restaurants. The drunken shouting, speaking, singing (you get the picture) finally abated about 4am, just in time... More
