The room itself was very small but quite nice. The big issue was that on booking.com we requested one night with breakfast included but when there the receptionist said that they knew about the issue but there was no breakfast. So the 99 pounds per night were definitely too much for this hotel. Not a 5 star accommodation at all.

No amenities although very friendly staff. Expensive given that there is no breakfast, 'superior room' somewhat less than a typical Hilton. Double glazing and curtaining both let in noise and light. Bathroom had only one light and illuminated bedroom when on (at night)

This hotel is up a flight of narrow stars and is indeed above Jamie Oliver's Italian. The room was a good size with a good shower room. The reception is small. The hotel is adequate and a reasonable price when compared with others is the city centre. The hotel was quiet and the double/secondary glazing blocks most of the outside... More

Stayed at the hotel for a short weekend. We were looking forward to it as had seen the reviews and the 5 star AA rating that it had been given. Well overrated!!!! Too noisy, small room. Unclean communal areas. The location is great but the noise that emanates off the street, filters into the room. Not recommended if looking for... More

This hotel is situated on top of a Jamie Oliver restaurant. One has to go up a narrow flight of staircases to reach the reception which could be a real hassle for someone who just arrived from a long haul flight carring a 22 kg luggage. I was lucky there was a workman who arrived at the same time and... More

I waited a week to post this review to give the hotel a chance to rectify the situation properly. Instead I had countless back and forths with the owner and was last dumbfounded by their lack of comprehension and customer service. Key points: 1. The sheets on the bed were soiled (they said they were coffee stains but who knows?!)... More

We stayed in the Bocado on Saturday night for a short weekend break. The location was brilliant as it is very central, a short walk from the station and easy to walk to a number of restaurants and cafes. The Hotel has been given a 5 star rating and unfortunately we both failed to see how it achieved this. The... More

Oxford is of course a university town -- and kids will be kids, even at 3:30 in the morning. The noise from the street below woke me up several times, even over the cover of a white noise generator. The window overlooking the street desperately needs another pane of glass for sound deadening. The grinding noise of the pump for... More

Definitely not a space to take a loved one .... The rooms was small ... however as a transit point for a solo traveller this was good enough !! Clean and neat and good friendly service However ... The shower left me wondering how a fairly large person would fit in it though .... Too small ... I have a... More

We stayed here for one Saturday night. We think we had the largest room (room 3) and had an additional bed for our 10 year old daughter. In our view this is not a hotel at all but just some rooms above Jamie's Italian up some steps (no left) along narrow corridors. Note to owners: jazzy wallpaper does not a... More
