We arrived at the very splendid Westwood Hotel on the morning of our booking and were made very welcome immediately. We checked in with ease, even though we had arrived quite early and were welcomed by a helpful receptionist who printed off a variety of Oxford related maps for us. The room had picturesque views of a stunning country gardens... More

For reasons unknown I have never visited oxford so fancied making a night of the region as I was passing through. I decided to go for an independent hotel rather than a chain as I tend to play very safe on my travels. I booked at short notice (always seem to be the case with me) but got a room... More

I stayed the one night. I was greeted on arrival by polite and engaging staff at reception. There were six of us in all staying there and the warm summer weather made the outdoor terrace a pleasant diversion. This looks out on a well maintained garden which is part of a very attractive setting overall for the hotel. My room... More

found via net search, based on location near Oxford need, great looking place at end of a lane made it a great quiet retreat after a busy days touring, room was clean and tidy if not a tad small but not a real problem. Hospitality was excellent, great terrace to enjoy a beer or food, superb food options and great... More

The grounds are idyllic and the staff are really friendly and helpful...but: (1) they had left curtains open on a very hot day leading to an already warm, small attic room becoming very, very hot. Although dubbed a premium room, it was small to say the least and took a lot of effort (and a continuous fan) to make it... More

Stayed here for a wedding. only £10 or so in a taxi from the city. The room was clean and well appointed. The staff friendly and helpful. The only thing is the cost. Very nice but worth the hefty price tag? Probably not but happily stay here again

If you want an intimate, private place to relax and unwind with personal service that is not over- bearing but efficient and friendly, then this is the place for you. I stayed here for one night and it was absolutely worth it. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are tastefully designed. I could not recommend this hotel more. A... More

My daughter recently got married from the hotel as we live in the North of England. This resulted in our family and friends staying for several days. I cannot speak highly enough of the venue with its helpful and friendly staff. At times it seemed chaos but all staff cheerfully met our every request. The venue more than met our... More

The hotel is set in a forest about 4 miles outside Oxford city centre. The environment is peaceful and serene. The staff were polite and pleasant, and the room though small and compact was comfortable especially the bed. The only watch out is that though called a "hotel" it has features of a B and B, for example there is... More
