Lovely quiet hotel only a short bus ride to the centre. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The en-suite bathroom had a separate shower and the bath was large. Breakfast was basic but very good, cereal, toast and boiled eggs if you want. The staff were lovely, friendly and inviting. A very quiet hotel in a lovely part of... More

We stayed in large room at front, first floor. Everything was new and clean and quite fashionable (cf some 'bargain' b&b). Staff friendly if businesslike. Breakfast simple; we were offered boiled egg but just asked for toast which turned out to be a basket of supermarket croissants and warburtons seeded batch. I suppose if we'd wanted white toast we might... More

For a 2 night stay for a conference at the University, it was ok. Both the room and the shared bathroom were clean and fine, if a little dated in the case of the bathroom. Had a basin and shower (!) in the corner of the room- even for a couple not sure I would feel comfortable with that, let... More

Another unpleasant guest house which should not surprise regular visitors to this town. The room was cramped, in poor decorative order and with an uncomfortable bed. The sink was minute and there was nowhere to sit. The shower was good though. The heating did not come on in the morning. You expect more for this than the money (maybe not... More

I know the Australian dollar is low at the moment, but we paid far too much for the standard of accommodation. The building is seriously run down, furniture is cheap, dowdy, unmatching and unattractive (we had 3 rooms). No management staff seem to be present at any given times: we had to phone to be let in. For international travellers... More

The room was very clean, and we were able to arrive early with no fuss. The location is brilliant. It's a few minutes walk from a nice collection of shops, bars, restaurants, delis etc, and a very quick bus ride into the centre of Oxford. It's on a main road so if you can request a room at the back... More

Stayed here in February, only just got around to reviewing. Room wasn't entirely big but had a generous size shower/toilet room. Good enough to stay a few days. Was 2 single beds pushed together, but that was okay, more room. Breakfast not great but alright, continental. Filled a hole. TV in room & wardrobe. View of church from room was... More

This is good place to stay if you like to care for your self. The guesthouse is only staffed at breakfast, but the staff is soon there when calling to check in. The room I stayed in was a bit small for two people but if you are out most of the day and night it doesn't matter. In short... More

Having seen a couple of dodgy reviews of this place recently I was quite dubious about booking it but decided to go ahead as it was pretty cheap. The place was better than expected. It wasn't 5 star by any means but the owner was nice and the room was clean. The bathroom was a little run down but functional!... More

Awful B&B. Stayed one night with my 17 year old daughter on visit to a university college. Needs some serious money spending on it to bring it up to scratch. Terrible smell of 'must'. Breakfast poor. No one around to complain to. We wouldn't have stayed if we hadn't arrived so late. Definitely would NOT recommend this shack!
