The Oxford Spires is perfectly placed for a mini break in Oxford. We stayed for 2 nights and explored the city on foot having safely left our car in the onsite car park. The pleasant walk into the centre took 20 minutes at the most, along the river path. Our room on the first floor was modern, clean and had...

We had 3 rooms - two doubles and a twin. The twin had recently been refurbished so was excellent, doubles still very good. Ate in restaurant (Friday night) - there was a limited menu (not menu advertised outside restaurant). When we asked (Restaurant Manager) why this was no reason was given and we were told there would be full menu...

Perfect for our three day break in Oxford! Staff were really efficient, pleasant, friendly and helpful. I was able to buy a swimming costume here as I had left mine at home by mistake, and enjoyed a relaxing swim in the warm pool every day. Our room had recently been refurbished and was spotless; a very comfortable bed, with a...

Currently staying at the hotel with my Mum for a birthday weekend. Room is lovely and clean, just perfect. Reception staff very welcoming. Great location. Now onto the restaurant and this is what lets this establishment down. Hadn't booked a table but this didn't seem to be a problem, went in at 8pm. Didn't want a starter so just went...

We stayed here for 2 nights as a base to explore Oxford. We got a good deal on the room. We were nervous that we would get one of the 'yet to be refurbished' rooms. In actual fact, I believe we did but it was very nice. The difference being that the refurbished rooms have ultra modern decor (all mushroom...

Dear lbyrney, Thank you for taking the time to write your great review of your stay at the hotel and your visit to Oxford. As you rightly state the refurbished rooms are exactly that, just a newer style but the older rooms are still very serviceable and of a good size. We hope to have the remainder of the rooms...

We stayed here for one night in February whilst on a quick visit to Oxford and were pleased with our choice. We found the staff really pleasant, professional and helpful and we felt valued as customers from our arrival onward. We were offered an upgrade at a very attractive price but ultimately stayed with our standard accommodation which turned out...

Room was nice, fairly large and clean. Bathroom was ok, shower was poor, could do with a descale. I think we were in p art of the hotel that is due for refurbishing, by no means bad but a little tired in places. We ate in the bar from the lounge menu, the food was pretty bad. My husband had...

The hotel is only a pleasant 15 minute walk from Oxford city centre, either along the river or along the streets. The room was ok although a bit small. Breakfast was very good and the pool was nice. The restaurant was a bit disappointing and we found the cost of drinks very high. Overall though, a good place to stay...
