Stayed at the Hotel from 18th November celebrating a birthday. We stayed in a standard double room on the first floor. Rooms very comfortable everything you would need. Tea and coffee making facilities replenished daily, iron, lovely clean bathroom. Very good mattress for a good nights sleep. Plentiful breakfast the usual cereals, fruit yogurt, cold meats ,toast and bread. Given... More

Spent 2 days here recently and I noted great potential on my last visit and advised in my feedback on TripAdvisor. However no change as this time similar issues... it's the detail that lacking. So room great and quick check in but signage to room outside as in Elm was poor and as dark even harder. Room great and warm... More

We stayed at this hotel in November 2016. It is newly refurbished and the rooms are comfortable, warm and well maintained. General areas are nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. We eat at in the hotel restaurant and the food was very nice. Breakfast is good with hot food being served at the table and of a good... More

Just back from a lovely weekend at the hotel. We stayed in a family room, in an area of the hotel which was being refreshed. The room was spacious and lovely. A king size bed and a single bed, both very comfortable. The room also had a sofa, which was great to have that extra space. The staff were lovely... More

Room was ok so me cob webs on the walls. Bathroom and fittings were all a bit shabby and could be updated. Staff were lovely and helpful showed us to the room and where everything was. Didn't try any food as we went out.

I used this hotel for a one night stay and spent very little time here so can't say much about it - the room was clean, I didn't sleep well but rarely do so I don't think it was any fault of the hotel's. The breakfast was a buffet which was a bit disappointing since the breakfast menu to order... More

We stayed at Hawkwell House Hotel for one night on Saturday 19th November for my Mums 70th birthday. We booked three rooms, two superior family rooms and one superior double. As you can imagine, booking for such a special occasion is always worrying, as you want everything to be perfect....and that is exactly what our stay was...PERFECT! We rang ahead... More

There couldn't be any better a place to stay for a first-time tourist to the UK than Hawkwell House in Oxford. Cozy, quaint, and quiet but bubbling with guest interaction downstairs. The place is literally and wonderfully warm and toasty :-) ...a welcome treat walking in from zero degrees outdoor. And lovely, lovely staff from the reception to housekeeping and... More

Great location which puts you an easy walk from the centre of Oxford. We checked-in and didn't use the car for the duration of our three day stay; enjoyed the easy, flat walk into the city alongside the River Thames. Room was clean and comfortable. No air conditioning though left us too hot during the night despite the low temperatures... More

I want to preface this review with the caveat that I did speak to the receptionist when I checked out about all of the points I make below. She apologized and said that if I wanted to wait, she was sure the manager would consider giving me a discount on the room. I stated that I did not want to... More

Hello there. I am really sorry to hear that you didn't like the room that you were in and that you experienced some issues. As you have stated we are commended highly for our rooms, service and detail, but somehow we appear to have let you down on this occasion. I do welcome you to get in touch personally to... More
