This is the sister hotel to the Old Bank and equally as good. It's only a few minutes walk into the centre of town, with a small car park at the side for those who drive. The hotel has a quirky charm and has been delightfully and stylishly decorated. Our room was small but very comfortable and service was excellent....

Thank you Jane. I particularly like your descriptions of 'quirky charm' and 'stylishly decorated'. I am also pleased you enjoyed tea. Everything is homemade (of course) and I shall pass on your compliments to the kitchen. Kind regards, Toby

Great hotel - nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Perfectly situated. Walking distance from all major must-see spots in Oxford. Ideal home base for a comprehensive pub crawl tracing all the favorites of Inspector Morse.

Some fine detective work, Wolfgang. Even as a young DC, Morse had (correctly) deduced that 'beer is brain food'. We are ideally located to explore Morse's Oxford, given our proximity to Baidley College (it says here) and, er, Lady Matilda's. Just can't seem to find them on the map. Evidently more brain food required... Thanks and best wishes, Toby

This is the most charming place to stay in Oxford, It is in a league of it's own. The restaurant is of high quality and the rooms are perfect. It is the first hotel we have ever stayed in, that provides milk in the fridge ( how did they know we live on tea) It is quaint and artistic, simple...

Thank you, for such high praise. Some lovely adjectives used - tempting little soundbites which would read well on our website! We are, of course, keen to maintain tradition but embrace modernity and equality. Naturally, manners prevail and we work collectively and cooperatively. We hope to see you again; you are most welcome! Kind regards, Toby

Everything from start to finish was absolutely exquisite and the small touches made this hotel the best i have ever been in. The staff were fantastic, the breakfast was amazing (highly recommend the granola and the pastry box and coffee), the location is fantastic with a 10 min nice walk to the heart of Oxford shopping and Universities, and it...

Location gives ease of access, old stone walls and new windows secure quid, pleasantly quirky stairs lead to elegantly appointed rooms. Cozy entrée and bar, restaurant space and solicitous service make for an enjoyable stay.

We stayed for business but I'd love to go back again to explore more of Oxford from this great hotel. The reception-cum-bar could get a bit chaotic at busy times but other than that everything that we saw was really good. The staff were attentive but not over enthusiastic and the rooms were excellent. Quaint but not twee.

We stay here regularly and it consistently never disappoints. Great service, great offer of a free upgrade gave us a lovely room and the library addition is very relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyable and recommended.

I did not stay here, however, my family did and I joined them for lunch and in the evening for drinks. They showed me their rooms which were beautiful and the public areas, bar, library and restaurant were superb. A very cosy bar area with log fire (gas but atmospheric) and comfortable seating. A comprehensive drinks/wine list, bar snacks and...

We had stayed here for 1 night in a standard double room. Room and hotel in general was well presented, reception staff however were unfriendly. The bed was very firm and lumpy and resulted in a very uncomfortable nights rest. Paid £8 for a ham and cheese omelette on its own plus 12.5% service charge, it came out flat and...

I am sorry to learn you did not enjoy your stay at the Old Parsonage. It does not appear you enjoyed a very representative experience. We often receive compliments on the comfort of our handmade beds and regret that you did not feel rested. I am also very surprised to hear you found reception staff to be unfriendly, not a...

Stayed there for a business meeting. While not the cheapest hotel , averaged £175 per night, it was very good and difficult to fault. The rooms whilst not large are more than adequate. The only problem I had and some of my colleagues had was that bedrooms were too hot and made for a sleepless night. I managed to switch...
