Unfortunately my stay here was so bad I only stayed one night of the 4 that was booked. On arrival the lady was very cold and unbothered towards us and wasn't very present. Room was cold, dirty, and dumpy....Around the windows were moldy and the carpets very dirty, it seemed like it hadn't been vacuumed for a while. I was... More

The lady of the house, Mary, was incredibly rude and neglectful throughout our entire stay. The rooms (tidy) were damp, shabby in appearance and completely over priced. My colleagues and I were not informed of plumbing and building works taking place until we were all woken very early to our rooms shaking from the use of hammers/power drills (have recordings).... This accomodation is not suitable for families with babies eventhough we were told otherwise. The carpet was dirty (nightmare with a crawling baby), as were the walls. There is no facilities to prepare (warm) food or bottles. They were having noisy maintenance done and didnt tell us...i found out when it woke the baby up. The hosts reluctantly stopped the... More

Nice B&B, clean, nice room, cosy house. But really EXPENSIVE. 95pounds for 1 night/1 room, and only include breakfast. More, there was a misunderstanding with the couple that manage the guesthouse (maybe it isn't also legal because they didn't give us any receipt), anyway, we specifically asked by email if the price of the room was 95 pounds per 2... This is a really nice and cosy guesthouse with a dining hall at the ground floor and rooms on the two floors above. The couple who owns the place have been running this for over 20 years. They made me feel at home. I am a vegetarian and every morning they served freshly cooked veg breakfast. This is located on... More

You can expect a warm and friendly welcome in this lovely guest house. Rooms are clean, modern and bright, lovely ensuite. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had in B&B - bowl of fresh fruits, boiled eggs done to perfection, as much coffee as I could drink. Thoroughly recommend.

B and B very handy for Oxford centre, possible 10-15 minutes by foot, 5 minutes on bus. Friendly service in B and B, though rooms and particularly bathrooms comfortable but very small. Standard no frills breakfast. Price reasonable i think for Oxford.

What I want from a B&B is a clean room, comfy bed and a good breakfast. Brown's delivers on all 3. It's not luxurious, but it's handy for the city centre (20 mins brisk walk or frequent buses) and the proprietors are warm and friendly. Oxford is an expensive place to stay and Brown's prices are par for the city.... More

I stayed at Browns for a night with my family which included 5 people and a 2 year old baby, the place was warm clean and comfortable. The owners were very pleasant hospitable and accommodating being extra nice and considerate. Last but not least the breakfast and service was first class. Highly recommended

We were met and welcomed by a very nice host. The bed gave us a very good nights sleep being large and with good bedding but I'm afraid the bedroom itself was very uninspiring and needed some refreshing especially when we saw the rediculouslly small and unusable bathroom sink (it was also badly cracked). However the breakfast was very good... More
