We stayed at the Westgate for 2 nights, rooms were clean, tv worked, bathroom was clean and modern. Breakfast was great and the host was bubbly and inviting. We would stay here again if we came back to Oxford.

It was a really nice hotel, not too expensive with a really nice and devoted staff! I would definitely go there again!! So if you plan on going to Oxford but don't want to spend a fortune, this hotel is what you're looking for. My cousin and I were staying there while looking for a flat, they were very helpful.

Extremely helpful and obliging staff. The hotel is very clean and tidy. It is only a two second walk from the railway station so very convenient. I would highly recommend. I was very pleasantly surprised at how friendly and accommodating they were - more places should be like this.

Extremely dated, unloved, bits falling off everywhere, dodgy electrics, very unclean feel about the place, dirt and deceased flies on the windowcills next to our breakfast table, yuk! Paid £60 of my hard earned pounds for the privilege. I was robbed! :(

Our brief fortnight holiday in Great Britain included two nights in Oxford, and that magnificent visit meant wonderful overnighting at the worthy Westgate Hotel. It was not my first choice, but the pleasant surprise at its quality means that from now on, I'll check it first for availability whenever returning. It looks a bit dowdy on the outside, but once...

i had the pleasure of staying here for a few days 20-24 august and although the ratings were only 2stars i feel that this hotel was underated, the decor may be a little dated and the main building may need a spruce up on the outside but the staff more that made up for that with very friendly and acommodating attitudes...

What a waste of building with so much potential. A great location right next to the train station and only a short walk to town. The room was last decorated in the last 70s and left that way ever since. Poorly maintained with mould on the curtains, a warped flooring, flaking and patchy paint on the walls. As a 80s...

Stayed in room 3 in the Annex, and while the sheets were clean, the duvet had cigarette burns on them. In general, the whole place was barely surface-level cleaned. My sink had dirt around the basin; there was a clipped toenail on the carpet and dust where it clearly hadn't been vacuumed in some time; the walls need to be...

Discusting dirty no words to describe how awful it was. I didn't dare to have the breakfast. I'm not a fussy customer but that was shocking. The app don't let me to put no star at all. I stayed in room 3 annex that was 300 yards down the road from the actual hotel the front dor I think was...

We have been a number of times just to the cafe for breakfast.. it's very good value for money. If you ask nicely they may be able to do black pudding as well . Completing a very good breakfast :-) p.s. the sausages are good quality not what they look like on the menu. .
