We recently stayed at this guest house due to its location close to the major hospitals, however, please do not be tempted. The previous bad reviews are not exaggerated. The guest house is extremely tired and in dire need of updating and decorating . We stayed in room two which had a double bed and a single, the double bed... More

We booked an overnight stay as we were visiting friends in oxford and didn't want to drive home late at night. Although some reviews weren't great it was the only b&b available for the night we required & we only needed a bed for 1 night. We were greeted in reception & handed a form to fill in then shown... Stayed here for two nights as part of a birthday treat from my son (visiting Silverstone GP) on arrival had to wait ages for them to answer the door, quickly checked in and show to the room. Room was tired and dated but OK. Was told breakfast was from 8am. When we arrived for breakfast we had to wait outside... More

We were so looking forward to our w/e in Pickwick House because we had stayed there about 8 or 9 nine years ago &, perhaps naively, had expected the same standards that we had enjoyed then. But boy were we wrong. We arrived mid afternoon but there was no response to the doorbell so we went away & came back... More

I booked here on the strength of booking.com reviews,...and then I read trip advisors!!! The reviews here are so bad I did wonder about trying to book somewhere else, but thought it would be unfair of me. I arrived for a two night stay expecting the room to be cosmetically clean, tired; probably small as I was a solo traveller,... More

We stayed for 2 nights, in April 16 as it was close to the John Radcliffe, where my wife had an 0730 hrs appointment on the Friday morning. For ease I booked us in for the her next appointment whilst in the Guest House. I actually watched as the entry was made giving us Room 16 which was next door... More

Do NOT book if you will be arriving late despite telling them! They will cancel your booking which could easily mean you have nowhere to stay. I reserved a room for Saturday 6 days before arriving, as I was coming on from London after a show I informed them in my booking I would be arriving around 1:00am on the... More

So we came to this guest house with two small children, the room was fine but there was mould in the bathroom. The worst thing for us was the heating was turned off during the day and didn't come back on until 4pm. Because of the children we always came back to the room around lunch time and couldn't get... Cannot believe this place hasn't been closed down its like a scene from Blackpool in the 60's only much worse and I suspect hasn't been cleaned since 1960! Room like a cell, heating didn't work and mould in the bathroom, staff unhelpful and decided to go hungry rather than risk breakfast! Should be able to do minus stars!! Be warned!!

Spacious room, comfortable, nice hosts. They try to accomodate my request for breakfast. Had a warm room with garden view. Negative notes: They turn off the heater too early in the morning. Bathroom hover too noisee and i was waked up by others using their bathroom overnight. I felt the place was overpriced.
