A group of friends went for lunch to celebrate a recent birthday. Was very disappointed with the service; it look 2 hours to be served a starter (no cooking involved) & 4 main courses. We were looking forward to ordering puddings, but ran out of time! Coffee took another 20 mins to appear. Can't really comment much on the food... More

Cosy, clean and characterful hotel. Tea, coffee and local biscuits in the room were a nice touch. The gastropub served lovely food and we were particularly impressed by the selection of Gins (50+)! The bar staff were incredibly knowledgeable and made our evening meal a lovely experience. There was an excellent selection at breakfast. Would recommend.

We were a group of four and decided to try The Maytime again as we hadn't been for a long time.... It is in a beautiful village with lovely views. The outside seating areas are lovely and the inside has been beautifully renovated. We were all very impressed with the change. We all studied the menu and we were all... More

We attended Jamie Oliver's Big Feastival in August and stayed at The Maytime Inn, about 10 miles away. The Inn is located in Asthall, a picture postcard Cotswold hamlet near Burford. It is around the corner from the family home of the Mitfords. The Inn is attractive inside and out. Pulling down a narrow drive into a large gravelled car... More

We stayed here for one night whilst attending a wedding in Oxford. The Maytime is situated in a little village surrounded by glorious countryside. The Inn is spotlessly clean, comfortable and cosy. The room we stayed in was located at the rear of the Inn, on the ground floor, looking out to the garden and countryside. The full English breakfast... More

Tucked away in the small hamlet of Asthall near Burford, this was a wonderful find on a night's stop-over! The quality of service, accommodation (the saddler room), food and the setting exceeded our expectations.

The Mayfair Inn is attractive and modern, tucked away in the tiny town of Asthall. It sits amid sheep and cow pastures, a horse farm and the Windrush river. Perfect for long walks through the countryside. The Inn itself has a nice dining area that draws a sizeable crowd for meals and drinks. The outside area is very inviting also.... More

We spent two nights in the boot room, end of Aug / beginning Sep. Room and ensuite spotlessly clean, and recently refurbished. Room slightly on the small side, but otherwise excellent. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner on both days, using the beautiful garden at lunch time. Food could not be bettered. Very friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommended.

Village location is stunning, though note that the herds of cotswold sheep might disturb you in early morning if you leave windows open! The breakfast was very good, comprehensive and quickly served to order. Room was recently (?) refurbished to a high standard. However what prevent 5* is that the rooms in the annexe were bordering on the small side.... More

Nice place in the tiny but charming village of Astall. Nice garden and in the countryside for long Walks. Food was excellent. Room was quite small but modern. A little bit of noise from the adjoining room but not too bad. Overall nice stay
