I love this place. A really beautiful hotel. Excellent cuisine from an AA starred chef. The rooms are full of charm. The staff are a treat. Oh I could go on and on but still I can't find anything bad about this place. It was my birthday and this was the best present I could have.

My partner and I had the pleasure of getting married at the Bay Tree in August. I cannot express sufficiently my thanks to Maureen and especially Mark, duty manager for their care and attention to detail. Along with the wonderful staff they made us and our guests feel special. The location and building are fabulous, however it is the people that... More

Fabulous!!!! Good value for money, friendly staff, attention to detail great, scones yummy! We added a bottle of champagne which was the icing on the cake. We asked for more cream and jam, was very pleased to see at the end we hadn't been charged for these extras. Lovely gardens. A really must on a sunny day.

This hotel is run more like a youth hostel or a rooming house than a hotel. There was often no answer when we tried to call someone at the front desk, often ringing as many as 20 times, to ask a question or for a referral, for a restaurant or for a service. On our first night, we kept awake brought... More

A fabulous overnight stay. We entered our room and were welcomed with a happy anniversary card which was a nice touch. The room was spotless, it had ample space in which to relax and look out onto the beautiful gardens. We booked a table in the restaurant and the menu would certainly appeal to everyone. The experience began with a... More

Our good garden room had a 6ft bed and a lovely view of the garden. It was reasonably quiet although we could hear our next door neighbours talking so the walls could not have been very thick. Many aspects in the room were irritating. Not enough shelf space in the ensuite. This could be rectified easily by putting a shelf... More

The Bay Tree Hotel’s website says they are warm, welcoming and relaxing and they are a home away from home with friendly staff on hand. This was not what we experienced during our recent stay. The Bay Tree Hotel’s staff is pretentious. They did not make us feel comfortable or valued. When we checked-in, the details of our stay were... More

Perfect location and a hotel with great potential However Our room which was rated as exceptional was not On arrival the toilet system was not functioning correct and the room smelt of sewage The bathroom wooden floor was splattered in paint spots as recent repair work had been carelessly carried out The ceiling paintwork was peeling above the bath The... Third trip to The Cotswolds and third time at The Bay Tree - which might just suggest we like this hotel methinks? :-) Not the cheapest hotel you'll ever stay at certainly but BOY! Do you get what you paid for! The people are genuinely friendly and actually told me off for collecting our empty glasses! "You relax and we... More

We had a delicious lunch in delightful surroundins served by really attentive and friendly staff.Had a lovely table overlooking very pretty garden.Would like to return for a weekend stay in the not too distant future.Given how busy the traffic is in Burford, the Bay Tree is situated in an extremely quiet side street full of gorgeous houses.
