Turned up without a reservation for Sunday lunch and got a table no problem in the restaurant. Was a bit disconcerted to see that the carvery had been discontinued as this was a favourite of ours and the reason that we always head for this hotel for Sunday lunch when in the area. Ordered the trio which has three different...

Stayed here while working overnight locally. The place has been taken over recently and there was a bit of a problem with the bedroom key cards. This was quickly resolved while I had a lovely ham sandwich from the bar which had really stopped serving food earlier. This set the scene for the rest of our stay, nothing was too...

Staff were very friendly indeed. The food was very good, in particular an excellent steak and breakfast. The room was good for such an old hotel, although i can understand being on the first floor some of the complaints about hearing people above you. Cleanliness was excellent. All in all we all thought it was a brilliant hotel for visiting...

This was a perfect hotel for a weekend break with friends. It was really easy to locate with parking on site. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large and very well kept. Would recommend!

First time we have been here. Had Sunday Lunch. Didn't have to book. Barman very polite and helpful... but very slow. Food took quite a while and was almost exceptional... I chose the Trio which is a roast including pork, beef and turkey. It came with lots of veg including parsnips, carrots, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and red cabbage. Also...

Family lunch Sunday with 2 small children. Good food, relaxed and friendly service, we were celebrating two birthdays - and it was most enjoyable. Have visited and met family here for years (a halfway stop for us) and it's always been good.

Travelling back to Cirencester, a convenient place to stop for Sunday lunch. Surroundings pleasant and warm, staff helpful. However, our Sunday Roast Beef lunch was disappointing. There was a very generous portion of roast beef, but the vegetables were overcooked and had probably been standing around for some time. The roast potatoes were just boring, hard to cut insipid potatoes....

Reading through the reviews it would seem I am repeating the other locals. Genral manager was completely rude. I only asked if my friend (a former member of staff) was working. After work pint aborted, and wont be going back. This is Burford not Birmingham.

Stayed here every week for a couple of months now. Staff are really friendly, in particular Lee who is always quick to serve you at breakfast or when checking in/out and just friendly in general. Buffet breakfast is ok and dinner is really good with the option of eating in the restaurant or ordering to your room. Only thing is...
