All that you would want to expect from a hotel. Food is exquisite. We stayed in the room with the small balcony. Was great. Although not star rated I would give it a 4*. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I will definitely go back there. Go and try for yourself!

Booked a table and paid a deposit.Turned up and then told they were fully booked.Builders mess all around. One day this will be a lovely place. We did eat .The menu was not too large to choose from .Thee food was presented well but the flavours were not there. My potato on the pork was turning sour, the crackling was too dry (and cooked... Good location. Very luxurious rooms, but we had to push to get a twin room that was a decent size ( third room offered). Stairs quite steep. Car park tiny - I couldn't have got into the space. Breakfast good.

(Was waiting to write this review as I contacted the hotel directly to see what their response would be and to let them know so it wouldn't happen to anyone else. Their response was terrible and then stopped getting back to me). So.... This place has clearly changed hands or has a new owner with more money than sense or... More

I'm sure when all the renovations have been completed, this will be a lovely place to stay. The hotel should have made us aware of the building work going on all around the hotel, it was very disappointing to drive up to our room and be overlooking a rubble site. And to add to the disappointment, at 7.30 on the... More

I booked here for the perceived quirky and individual character of the hotel, expecting an interesting stay, with quality and care at the forefront of customer service. Laughable! A brief description of the main problems: Arriving, there was no sign or direction for check-in, in the first room the background noise from the restaurant was too intrusive, soap dispensers set... Very nice stay here. It's a lovely hotel with a very nice bar area and beautiful patio. There's lovely deep chairs and sofas and open fires. I imagine in winter it's a cosy place to sit. My one criticism would be the choice of loud music at night, it's not that type of atmosphere. The breakfast was nice enough if... More

Wine ordered with the meal was bought after the meal. Lemon souffle ordered was bought to the table with dish handle in a position where needed to be slightly moved in order to start eating and the handle was scalding hot and so spent next 10 minutes with fingers under cold water tap due to burn. Usually you would expect... More

I'm never sure what 'boutique' means when describing a hotel. Anyway, The Walton is decorated in dark colours, with chandeliers and open fires. The room I had was pleasant - comfortable bed, bath, fluffy towels, free wifi. The dining room was lovely and the breakfast was exceptionally good. Staff are very helpful. The main down side is noise from the... More

One of Nottingham's best hidden secrets! I came with family and our 2 doggies for Sunday lunch. Amazing food, (roast beef was tender and the roast potatoes were perfect), beautifully presented, no wait at all and well priced. Staff are so helpful, efficient and always a pleasure to sit in comfort being pampered in the new terrace. Well done team... More
