Just back from my second stay at the Stables, Chollerton Old Church Cottages. I stayed here for a week in February and loved it so much that I immediately booked a return visit for 2 weeks in summer. Marilyn and Ian are very friendly and caring hosts, who went out of their way to make sure that I had everything...

We have just returned from 4 nights here, my husband and children and I in Lonnenend and my parents in Kirkend. The hosts were rude to the point of hostility, never actually greeted myself and family at all and banged on my parent's door at 10.30pm to chastise them about our dog being with us (they are apparently dog friendly...

We stayed in The Stables in August. The owners (and their daughter) are charming, friendly people who are helpful and informative. The Stable was an ideal size for the two of us. There was a good size bathroom, an extremely comfortable bed (we peeked at the mattress and bought a similar one when we got home!), a large wardrobe (ample...

If you want peace and tranquility combined with comfort, then The Stable provides this in abundance. A sympathetic conversion into an open plan room has left intact the rough stone walls and the beams and posts from the original stable. A french window leads onto a small private terrace with a low wall - giving spectacular views to the hills...

We booked in three night break at the end of October in Kirkend. Very clean and well kept. The gardens are lovely although the weather was too cold to enjoy them properly. There is plenty to do in the area and lots of information is provided by the owners. The cottage is quirky and interesting,The only downside for us was...

5 adults in one house is demanding a lot from a holiday let. The interior was qirky and clearly a very personal statement from the owner, but this made iy very welcoming. The house was well equipped and comfortable. The additional information on attractions was a big help and mine host provided some really great ideas for enjoying the area,...

In my humble opinion Marilyn Framrose puts the overall comfort, welfare, the beautiful countryside and so many other bits and pieces that go together to make the ideal holiday for one to relax - or should I say 'try to relax'. first and the running of a business most definitely second Why? One needs a week to try to read...

Kirkland was comfortable, clean and spacious. The clever division of the church made full use of the architechtural features and all rooms featured at least part of the many stained glass windows. The location was quiet and and the gardens provided many seclude corners to sit and enjoy the peace. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful....

The converted church is split into 2 properties and we stayed in "Lonnenend". Having a triple aspect, light pours in through any number of the original church windows throughout the day in the main open plan living space. The kitchen is beautifully equipped and the bedrooms well furnished and cosy. From the sun terrace you can watch the sun go...
