Gibbs Hill is about 2.5 miles walk north of Hadrian's Wall, where Val has converted an old farm building to a bunkhouse. Val advised me to eat first at Twice Brewed before walking back up to Steel Rigg and then down to the farm. After a long day, I couldn't face that walk, so phoned to ask for a lift,... More

On the weekend of the 31st of October my husband and I were married at Hexham Winter Gardens. I booked out Gibbshill Farm for 25 guest and us for the Friday - Sunday. We were so excited to have so many of our closet family and friends all together in one place. I couldn't believe it when I found Gibbshill... More

The quality of the location, overlooking the most scenic portion of Hadrian's Wall, is surpassed only by Val's hospitality. Short drive to the Wall, Housesteads, Vindolanda or Twice Brewed Inn. Great English breakfast. Ask for the apple and blueberry porridge.

My fiance and i stayed in the 2 berth cottage. It was perfect for what we wanted. We had our mountain bikes and our walking boots and just wanted a warm bed and a peaceful base. We arrived on Monday and had a warm welcome from val who showed us to the cottage and gave us some information about the... More

We walked to Gibbs from Hadrians wall without realising Val, the charming owner, offers a free lift for the two mile hike. This very generous offer was taken up by us on our onward journey saving us plenty of time and fatigue. The accommodation could not be faulted and with a superb breakfast, this is an excellent place to stay.

This farm house was one of our overnight stays on Hadrians Wall Path. We stopped at Twice Brewed Inn and then we were picked up by one of the owners after our evening meal. We were taken to a charming farm house in the middle of fields. Sheep, cats and other animals habitate the surroundings and gives the farm a... More

I stayed here whilst walking Hadrians Wall. The owner is very helpful, picked me up from the pub after I had finished the walk then drove me back to the walk the following morning. The views from the B&B are fabulous, but the accommodation is basic. The tea and coffee was basic tea bags, sachets of coffee and one small... More

The farm is very remote, but Val does a great job of ferrying everyone to and from Hadrian's wall path and the pub . The accommodation is simple, but clean. We were asked to be sparing with the hot water as there were 6 of us. This was disappointing as 2 of the group were looking forward to a good... More

The owner picked me up from the pub which is about a mile away from the farm, also got dropped back onto the Hadrian's Wall Path in the morning which is a great service. Val is very welcoming and friendly. Room was comfortable and very clean. Well recommended.

Val picked us up from Steel Rigg car park, although this involved a hike up the hill from 'Twice Brewed' car park as the farmhouse B&B is quite remote. The bedroom was clean and functional, although a little tired, and unfortunately the shower attachment above the bath wasn't working. However, Val kindly took us to and from 'Twice Brewed' later...
