Travelers' Choice
When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back. David George, General Manager

We went for dinner last night and it was so good I had to write a review. My boyfriend had the scotch egg which was amazing. I had the smoked salmon and I honestly have never tasted salmon quite like it. Beautiful. We both had the short beef rib and it just melted off the bone. Nothing was too much trouble. They bought extra gravy for my northern boyfriend and wrapped our bones to take home for our dog. We highly recommend and will be back soon!

Had to write another glowing review for my favourite Northampton restaurant. Visited last Thursday evening and from start to finish, everything was just lovely, difficult for sure in these Covid 19 times, but the Hopping Hare have got it right, faultless in all ways. Food,as always, was perfect in quality and presentation. Staff, both friendly and attentive.A good atmosphere on a fairly busy night, which was nice to see. Thank you for yet another wonderful dining experience.Happy Christmas and a better New Year to EVERYONE who makes this restaurant the special place to me that it is.xx

Me and my partner went for a meal , we were seated at our table right next to the door , so eveytime the door was opened we’d get a very cold gust of air , the table was bare not even a candle or flower . How ever the food was beautiful , was absolutely amazing but the second we finished our starters they were straight out with the mains , it felt very rushed .

Dear Rochelle, Thank you for your feedback and I am very pleased that you enjoyed your meal at The Hopping Hare. Our priorities are to serve excellent quality food at great value prices, alongside first class customer service and it is very disappointing that you felt rushed as there is usually a very relaxed and laid-back feel and a great atmosphere. The bare tables at present are the result of following Covid-19 hygiene guidance to set tables when guests arrive. We are very much looking forward to a time when our tables are fully set, along with flowers etc. Please visit again and I an highly confident you will have a great time. Kind regards, David.

My partner and I visited The Hopping Hare tonight with another couple. We were all absolutely blown away by the quality of the food, we all had 3 courses and every single course was impeccably presented and even tastier than it looked. The wine list was extensive with a huge variety of reds, whites and rosè. The bar had a great selection of premium lagers and real ales, and a complete set of flavours from the Warner Edwards gin range. The service was just incredible, as soon as you asked the waitress for something it was with you within a couple of minutes, the food was nothing less than absolutely delicious, fresh, hot and served with a smile (at least I think they were smiling through their mask), and as I mentioned earlier; immaculately and beautifully presented. Given the current pandemic we are in, it felt like nothing was too much to ask for. We all very much enjoyed our time here and will be back again very soon - thank you Hopping Hare staff, it was a pleasure to eat and drink in your pub this evening.
