I was going to write a long review but it would have just been me naming the menu from start to finish and waxing lyrical about how good this tasted and that tasted. We stayed for one night as a break and treat away from kids etc. We booked last minute really but managed to get a family room and... More

We booked to stay at the Hopping Hare overnight while visiting the area. The staff/management were very welcoming and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms well appointed and decorated. Good choice and quality of breakfast. Well worth having a meal in the restaurant - good menu selection, food perfectly cooked and well presented. Desserts a 'must try'. We... More

Chose Hooping Hare at random as needed a place to stay to break up a long journey. We were 3 hours from home but would return to experience again. Food was a real treat, good value for the culinary delight. Comfortable accommodation & plenty of choice for breakfast. Not surprised by how busy the place was but the staff were... More

We only booked the day before for one night and so couldn't complain about our room. It was a small double which opened out on to air conditioning unit which did hum. To be fair, it was turned off before we settled down to sleep and didn't disturb us. The room, although small was spotlessly clean but as other reviewers... More

Dear Jeev, Thank you for your review and I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Hopping Hare. Very sorry about the overcooked bacon, which is very disappointing. The staff should have picked up on this before serving. Kind regards, David. More

We have just stayed at the Hopping Hare and also eaten in the Resturant. What a friendly happy bunch of people. They couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing. It was a pleasure to stay here. We shall come back.

Whilst this place is well furnished the rooms are quite cramped, excessively noisy and hot. The room service / food was excellent with good quality food and very efficient and friendly service... faultless. The room was small, with no ventilation or A/C, other than a window onto a roof area that had very, very noisy kitchen fans and ducting, it... More

Dear SRH, Thank you for your feedback and I am very pleased that you found the quality of our food and customer service to be faultless. We do have three small double rooms which are close to the kitchen extract fans which make a humming noise, which I appreciate can be annoying. The fans are switched off as soon as... More

Lovely hotel. I had a single room which was adequate but thought it was a bit pricey. Breakfast again was ok but nothing special. The drinks at the bar were quite expensive too. I had room 7 which was on the first floor.

Dear Janette, Many thanks for staying with us and for posting a review. Room 7 is our only single room and the rate is very competitive. All our rooms are all cheaper if booked directly with us either by phone or online through our website. Kind regards, David. More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back.
