The hotel has got it spot on - lovely touches, very clean & spacious but we were a little let down by the food. Fatty pork & poor service. Probably would stay at the hotel again but wouldn't eat in the restaurant.

Had gone to visit another pub just down the road but they ignored us for so long we walked out! The Hoping Hare was brilliant by comparison! Spoken to as soon as we walked in. Drinks and food ordered quickly and arrived swiftly. Staff really friendly and food hot and tasty! Why can't other places be like this one! Thanks... More

I have stayed here several times, and I always feel that this is a home-from-home. The rooms are not the classiest, but very comfortable. The restaurant has an excellent reputation, with a varied menu that is frequently updated, But their breakfast is the crowning glory, excellent quality food with great service.

We visited the Hopping Hare over the Silverstone weekend from Friday 8th Jul - 10th Jul. I have to say the food was great with no complaints. We were shown to room 14 and had to request a change as this room, and I think others had an outlook on to a dark courtyard area with air conditioning units which... More

Rooms and the restaurant were very polished, however i would of liked a more private table. I would definitely stay here again.

Visited here last night for a colleague's retirement meal and I have to say I had no complaints. We pre-ordered our food and what came out was excellent, both in presentation and in taste. The butternut squash tagine was exquisite and in my opinion rivalled vegetable tagines that I ate out in Morocco and the white chocolate mousse was to... More

I booked the Hopping Hare for a colleague's retirement meal. I dealt via email with Amy who helped us to organise everything. We gave a deposit to secure our table then we made food choices about a week before, the menu we had was good and varied and Amy went to the trouble of sorting dietary requirements etc. On the... We stayed one night on our way home from Wales and on our way to visit Bletchley. We had a very comfortable room, paid extra for the kingsize room. We decided to eat in the bar area as it was less formal and we didn't like the music in the restaurant. we had a really tasty sharing seafood starter, Seafood... More

Dear Graham, Many thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated by us all. We now have a large (but still growing!!) fan base of customers who love our freshly home-cooked... More

As the manager of a near by gastro pub I have been popping in here on and off for a year or so during breaks and after work. For research purposes of course. I've just had the Hopping Hare Reuben for the 6th visit in a row. I want to fault it, and say it's okay...but no, it's consistently amazing.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back.
