Travelers' Choice
When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back. David George, General Manager

Seven of us had a very late lunch here after two of us were married. This place is so impressive and we were so pleased to have found it as nothing else is open on a Monday and if it was, it probably wouldn't be open for lunch at 3pm. And this is really more like fine dining than a pub restaurant. Everything is made and cooked to a really high standard, the service is excellent and we ate in the part of the building they call the conservatory which is quite special. The lemon tart is the star of the show for me, such fine, crispy, sweet pastry - probably the best I've ever had. Other dishes we had were: partridge with roasted celeriac, duo of pork, soft-yolked Scotch egg, fish (haddock) and chips - best chips ever - delicious mushroom soup, steak, vegan gnocchi - they have a vegan menu not just the one dish - smoked salmon, goats cheese mousse, hot chocolate mousse, apple and cherry bakewell, homemade sorbet. And we couldn't fault any of it - delicious food. This was just perfect for us and we're so glad to have found it. Highly recommended.

Spent one night at the Hopping Hare as a treat for my wife for her birthday as a visit to the Northampton Museum had been arranged. The staff were charming and helpful, the food and service were excellent and the room was comfortable and clean. It was a lovely experience!

Amazing evening, food was exceptional with service to match. You can tell that the staff and chefs really care about the ingredients and what they are serving. This is our one of our favourite restaurants to go to in Northampton. Can’t wait to return and try something different next time.

Stayed at the hotel whilst visiting family over Christmas. The hotel is immaculately clean and rooms are of high standard. We have stayed twice in the last 6 months and both times are rooms have been spacious. Very comfy, no noise from the pub/restaurant. Towels are lovely and fluffy. Special touch on Christmas Day when the rooms were not being cleaned a "Christmas Tray" from housekeeping had been left outside to replenish the towels and tea tray. Breakfast was lovely and service was excellent. We found all staff to be friendly and very welcoming . Will definitely use this hotel when we are next paying a visit to family.

My family visited here for a Christmas lunch , The food was ok , The turkey was delicious but the roast potatoes weren’t crispy , they tasted more like Toby Carvery sit around spuds which was disappointing, The gravy was a bit stingy as were the sauces that accompanied the puddings , Our server was a friendly girl and the ambiance was lovely , I don’t think it’s worthy of two rosettes as the attention to detail wasn’t there in the cookery but it was ok overall.
