When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back. David George, General Manager

We stayed overnight at the Hopping Hare in the top floor apartment and found it absolutely gorgeous- spotlessly clean, very comfy bed (and a huge bed at that), nice sofa and a wonderfully powerful shower and modern bathroom with a nice skylight and tiles. Decor was lovely and quirky. The staff were friendly. We visited the bar in the evening for a drink and enjoyed the atmosphere. The breakfast was good - cooked and cold options available. Would stay again, especially in that room.

Very inconsistent food. Sometimes good, other times poor. But what is not consistent in the service. Always bad. Staff seem disinterested and act like they are doing you a favour being there. Probably mostly students working for pin money. Not recommended.

Dear John, I question whether you have ever visited The Hopping Hare. Of course the odd mistake is made, but your comments are ridiculous. The front of house team are very helpful and friendly and are totally committed to delivering first class service, so much so that we have been awarded a TripAdvisor certificate of excellence for many consecutive years and have been inducted into the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame since this award has been introduced.

Ate here to try somewhere different to our usual places. Did book a table but don’t think necessary. Parking ample. All very clean. Staff really friendly. Menu choice is varied at a reasonable price. Food arrived in a good time. Will definitely be going back.

Was invited here for my friends baby shower. Staff were very welcoming and beautiful venue. We sat down to afternoon tea which include a wide assortment of tea choices or the option of champagne. Three tier choice of sandwiches, scones and desserts. We were all very pleased with the quality and amount. Many of us enjoyed drinks from the bar which include beautiful presented gin. Would recommend a visit.
