I Like Marriots, so much so that I am an owner. Hving endured lockdown, when visiting Northampton recently i decided that my treat would be to stay at the local Marriott. However everything about the stay made me realise it wasnt worth it, and actually in these challenging times a budget option would have been just as good. Reasons are: The check-in was nervous and chaotic, potentially even homophobic. In these uncertain times as customers we are unsure, and we are relying on the staff to settle us. The restaurant menu for dinner was so limited as to be laughable, and delivered in a space that was so large as to feel uncomfortable. Bar stocks were clearly low: there wasn't even any lemonade. And breakfast was little better than a truckstop, A plate of food including the toast and a pot of tea. No juice, no enquiry to see if more toast was required. No offer of marmalade. just a plate of food delivered unceremoniously to the table. I think the key problm was i was expecting something recogniseable as a marriott experience. The only thing that met the expectation was the toiletries.…
We had a great stay for our anniversary. We booked a suite and I used the spa bath 5 times in 2 days! What a treat. The hotel is close to a lake and Delapre Abbey which is walking distance and well worth a visit. The hotel is nicely appointed and our room was very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and helpful and adhering very carefully to the covid precautions. Staff who helped us are: Reception: Jordan was extremely welcoming and gave us great advice and a map on the local area. She was very helpful and our check in was both efficient and easy, including explaining the security lock mechanism on the balcony doors. Restaurant: Louise Bentley Really helpful, enquired after how I was after being unwell the previous evening. Very careful to ensure my gluten free needs were catered for. Also gave us some great advice on walks around the hotel grounds and a walk to local Delapre Abbey via the woods. Really friendly and jolly and a credit to the hotel. Illiyan Illiyan greeted us with a smile and made us very welcome. He was very attentive and spoke with the chefs to create a menu for my gluten intolerance needs, which I appreciated greatly. Nothing was too much trouble and he was very helpful throughout our meals, both breakfast and dinner. I would definitely recommend and we hope to revisit next year.…
I was staying at the property for 2 days due to a two-day-course at the beginning of this month. The property itself is very well looked after: Parking and all public areas were very clean. The check in was modest, maybe too modest. I expected a more presentable front desk agent. Moving on to the room, once I got in the room I realised I'm in a Marriott as the room was spotless and the mattress gorgeous. A massive turn off for me was the lack of signal and Wi-Fi connection as I carried all the way from Luton a laptop with me and it turned out to be useless. When I addressed this issue to the front desk, their response was: The system is quite old... A big asset to the hotel is the restaurant, and to be more specific: Michele. I have to say she made my stay, otherwise this review would have been a negative one. Michele was very attentive to my needs and did manage to offer me a personalised service from the moment I showed up in the restaurant to the moment I checked-out. Adrian…
Amidst all of the issues the world is facing with Covid-19, I was amazed at the level of service offered by Chris Reynolds and the team at Marriott!!!! The uncertainty was met with unfazed support and excellent service all topped off with smiles (and boatloads of cleaning! Every public space being given a good clean every 2hrs) The rooms maybe a little in the old style compared with other Marriotts but the service is up there with the premium choices within their brand!!!! Excellent work guys and cant wait to be back and using you for work stays when in Northampton!!
I stayed here for one-night whilst away on business. Check-in was efficient and then I found a well-kept room, which allowed me to get a good night of sleep. The availability of a swimming pool and jacuzzi was welcome, as was the good service and tasty meals that could be found in the restaurant. As the hotel was quiet, breakfast was served to order and was also tasty. I would recommend staying here whilst in the Northampton area.
