This was the second time I have stayed here and this time brought two friends, one from Canada and one from London UK. They remembered me and made us feel so welcomed. The room was perfect for three, the accommodations just great. The breakfast was hot, plenty and welcomed. Have been twice, if I ever have cause to be in...

We stayed at the Briar Lea for 1 night on our way from London to Edinburgh and wished we had been able to stay longer. Norma and Nigel are excellent hosts, the room was spotless and the breakfast the best we had in our entire trip. York is an extremely interesting city and one we would love to return to...

Stayed for two nights. Owners very nice and friendly. We have just spent a night at Briar Lea, after attending an event in York. Not much to add to what everyone else seems to think. Very friendly people who own Briar Lea, make you feel welcome, very clean, warm rooms and great breakfast. Only about ten minutes walk to the centre of York. The rooms are on the small...

Thank you for comfirming what most guests think. One or two of the rooms are a little on the small side compared to some B & B's, but no smaller than most. But as you will agree, our prices reflect this.

The owners of this B & B are the friendliest and nicest of any I have ever met. The breakfast was lovely, it is cionvenient for the town centre via a short walk down the river or a stroll through the beautiful york museum gardens. The room was spotless and nicely decorated. The only bad point is that the room...

We travelled to York for a weekend break and stayed at the Briar Lea Guest House. A small friendly place, very welcoming and helpful in assisting us with our luggage up the stairs. A super twin room on first floor very spacious for us and wow what a lovely freshly cooked breakfast to set you on your way. It's about...

We stayed at the Briar Lea for 2 nights and found it very welcoming , clean and comfortable. The double room we stayed in was very small but clean and adequate for our 2 night stay. The breakfasts were delicious and the location excellent, only a 5/10 minute walk along the riverside into York centre.

Thank you for your kind review. Yes, a couple of our rooms could be described as small, but they are perfectly formed, and our prices reflect this. We are glad you enjoyed your breakfast at Briar Lea. Most guests do too. Hope to see you again.

This is a great B&B for a short stay in York. We spent one night here with kids. We were on the top floor but Nigel helped with our bags so no problem. It is only a 10 minute walk to the town centre and we were able to leave our car parked outside the B&B after we checked out...
