From the moment we arrived which was quite late! Simon warmly greeted us and put us at ease immediately, gave us valuable information about where to go to eat and little bits of information which you would only know if you live there.,Simon even parked the car for us! The rooms were beautiful and well stocked with a fridge and some...

The B&B was central to the main sites in the city and only 10 mins walk from the station. The room was well decorated and nicely furnished. There was an array of choices for breakfast ranging from Full English to American, vegetarian and continental. Locally produced jams and marmalade, fresh fruit salad and homemade muesli. Lovely host Simon. There wasn't...

Simon was very welcoming and imforative on arrival. We stayed in a standard double room with private bathroom opposite. Had no problem that. Room was a bit cramped but can't say I was really bothered by that as the room was really only used for sleeping. Breakfast was outstanding. Homemade bread and there was plenty to choose from. Left feeling...

My fiance and I stayed here for 3 nights in February and found it to be a great b&b. The room was more than adequate with great little touches such as fresh milk for the tea and coffee and home made biscuits. One of the best things about our stay was undoubtedly the breakfast, all freshly cooked, local produce presented...

We stayed here for 2 nights with friends and we all loved it. Both rooms were clean and beautifully finished with everything you expect and extras that you don't. Situated just outside the city walls, it's in the perfect spot to just dump the car (in the free parking) and explore the city at your leisure. Breakfast was super and...

We had 2 rooms, 1 being larger than the other. The smaller room was tight for 2 people & that's really the only negative that quickly comes to mind. The many steps to our rooms didn't overly concern us & we each had a heavy bag, but I share this for people with mobility issues. Now let's talk about the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
No. 21 York is a multi award winning Bed & Breakfast, offering a choice of nine clean & comfortable rooms, a warm and homely welcome as well as a great Yorkshire breakfast - all within a stone's throw of York City Centre. Built circa 1890, the B&B is a Victorian Terrace that has a history of offering accommodation and breakfast to guests since 1966, we will continue in this tradition of offering homely hospitality in some of the finest bed and breakfast accommodation in York. Our ethos is that we support our local & we are fiercely proud of our local Yorkshire produce, supplies & furnishings. Where possible, everything we do is a celebration of York and Yorkshire. York happened to us by happy coincidence & we love York and the surrounding countryside and it's a pleasure for us to share our "local" knowledge of what's on offer in our amazing city and - as it is fondly known - "God's own county" as well as how to get around & about. We look forward to welcoming you to our home & hope to see you sometime soon. ... more   less
