Nice comfy beds and nice breakfast. Room was lovely and warm on a cold night. Not too far to walk in to centre of town. Only complaints are that decor could do with updating but owners were talking about moving so probably won't do this before they move and also that only got free parking overnight so had to move... Very positive experience, the place is very tidy and clean, the room was perfect and staff very friendly and helpful. Not very cheap but I didn't book much in advance. The breakfast was delicious. The location is not the best one if you're alone because in the night is quite dark but the zone looked safe anyway. Recommended.

A very nice, clean guest house, a short walk to York Minster and other attractions, Nice location on a quiet street. The owners are friendly and will assist in ordering taxis etc. Breakfast was delicious and very well prepared. The room was a bit on the small side, but spotlessly clean, well appointed and the bed very comfortable. The free... More

Very Quiet Location, the room was clean, nothing fancy, and the bed was oh so comfortable !!! The cooked breakfast was delicious, and we also tucked into cereal, as well as fruit and Yoghurt. We have been visiting York for quite a few years now but this is our first stay at The Abbingdon. Perfect location, lovely clean room. The bed was extremely comfortable which is an added bonus. Tea and coffee are replenished daily with the added touch of a small packet of biscuits each day. The breakfast was delicious and we were... More

Stayed here a couple of nights at the beginning of September 2015, I was contacted soon after booking the hotel in case I needed to reserve a parking permit which is limited since this is more or less in the middle of York, As it happened I came by train which was 10 minutes by taxi or 15 minutes walk.... I was unsure of what to expect considering I booked the accommodation a few days before arrival and hadn't fully researched the location and amenities offered at the Abbingdon Guest House. Tony & Alison certainly work hard for the money and I have to say the two nights I spent there were perfect in every way imaginable. I received a... More
