For 9 years Midway Guest house run by Ian and Annette has always been our accommodation of choice in York. Alas, they were so often fully booked we sometimes had to make alternative arrangements. As other reviewers have noted, their website is out of date: it seems to me that the new owners are cynically using the good name and...

My husband and I have used this B and B over the past 4 years while our daughter has been studying at the University. We return to the Midway as our daughter’s student house used to be in walking distance but have continued to use the Midway as it provides good parking, an easy route to the University avoiding the...

Stayed at this b&b for many years, so stuck with it when went xmas shopping. I noticed a big change, didn't see the owners only when checked in. The room was not as clean as it used to be when owned by the previous owners( who were lovely). There was thick dust on top of pictures, the shower had hairs...

Stayed here for 2 nights in November. Located on a main road but with plenty of on-site parking. It is about 25 minutes walk into the centre of York (either along the road or the riverside). There is also a bus stop outside. Comfortable and clean room which was on the top floor. That meant that some of the headroom...

This was my second visit to this B and B. We had two double en-suite rooms. One was quite small but still very comfortable. The other was more roomy with a double settee in there as well. Everything was clean and well presented and the bed and bedding was very comfortable. The wi-fi was reliable and there was plenty of...

It was convenient being on the first floor in an en-suite room which was clean but rather small. The breakfast was very tasty and the staff appeared very keen to help. There was a lounge with a TV, but we were out most of the time so didn't really use this. The bed had a solid end to it and...

The good thing about this guest house in its clean warm and the breakfast is good. The bad thing was the attitude of Paul the owner. He rudely accussed my wife of smoking in the hotel, for 1 she doesn't smoke and had only gone downstairs to get the WiFi code for me. My mother in law smokes but she...

Nice comfortable stay, definate sign of mould about the place, but is well decorated, room was comfortable with a nice firm bed. Breakfast was amusing as they asked your room number wether it was for cooked breakfast or toast, then when they bought your breafast out would take it to the wrong table as they had forgotton where "room 1"...
