This is in an excellent location for the city centre and railway station. Everywhere is clean, rooms were a good size and staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a poor nights sleep due to the lack of air conditioning and the windows only open a small amount. Noise could be heard from nearby rooms, doors slamming and inconsiderate people talking loudly in the corridor outside during the early hours. Don't think I would return.
Stayed here for one night early August, staff were lovely upon arrival and very pleasant, room was brand new with excellent facilities, spotlessly clean, location is in the heart of the city right near everything, safe and secure car parking is a two min walk at the NCP and the hotel give you a discount if you give them your ticket to validate. Absolutely can not fault our stay or the hotel, would definitely recommend and return
If you're looking for a good night's sleep or a comfortable bed, this ISN'T the hotel for you. The hotel has no air con and it gets VERY hot in the rooms. We were told on arrival that fans were in demand so to keep cool we had to keep the window open but the street below is insane all night (they need to prioritise fans to lower levels on the side where the street is). There are people screaming and shouting and cars seem to be racing with modified exhausts (think of a cheap version of Fast and Furious). The street seems to amplify all sound. The drunk people coming out of a club next to the hotel are very very loud and it doesn't die down until about 4am. By the early morning the road is full of cars and buses and lorries and the sound of a crossing. The hotel has a bus stop right outside (great for transport but not great for the sound) and is sandwiched between two sets of traffic lights so I've learned that idling lorries are very loud all day and night and cars rev their engines a lot here. The bigger bed is just two singles pushed together and it's very uncomfortable with the divide between the two beds causing a solid ridge down the centre. The furnishings are fine but you have to be deaf or very drunk to sleep through the noise and it's probably a hotel I'd only recommend if it's freezing cold outside so it might cool the room enough for you to close the window and try to keep more of the noise out. The hotel is fine and the staff seem lovely but the location, noise and lack of ventilation or air con completely ruins it as a choice.…
It's tough under he conditions of lo kdown to provide great service but, at this hotel they did everything right by us with an adequate If not spectacular of rooms. What stood out was the pleasantness and professionalism of the staff. They could not have been kinder or have done more for us.
The hotel boast a million pound makeover. No air-conditioning in that budget! Walls were paper thin and insufficient fans to cope with demand. Only way to enjoy a night here is if you are drunk! Appalling
