Sorry for yet another pun, but a sense of humour is required if you stay here. Like many before us we seemed to have landed at the Steer Inn because every other option was booked, this time for the York Marathon weekend. Despite reading earlier less than glowing reviews on Tripadvisor, I thought "How bad could it be?" Small room...

Booked last minute as this was the only accommodation available. We were greeted by the owner with "Your in Room 11 upstairs. that's the door with a 1 and another 1 on it" Ha ha ha ! Well at £70 a night for a double room with supposed en-suite, we were at least expecting a room big enough to be...

Didn't receive a warm welcome and immediately felt out of place. Room was unclean with dirty coffee cups. Arrived back after an evening out and there was a disco going on in the conservatory which was very loud! Not quite sure what this place is trying to be disco / b&b / youth club? Over priced and not a good...

this place is unclean, unkept, tired, run down, expensive and overall the staff have not one ounce of customer service. We booked a FAMILY room to stay at after a wedding reception, could easily have drove home after, but thought we would have a treat and stay over ... didn't expect what happened next!! on returning to the 'hotel' (10.30pm)we...

We only stayed one night at the Steer Inn, but we were greeted warmly by Darin and his wife, despite our late arrival of 10 pm. Darin spent much time with us, providing instruction and directions as to where to go to see the Grand Depart of the Tour de France, knowing that 2 million other people had also arrived...

We stayed for one night at this hotel. On arrival the host was very pleasant and helpful. We were allocated room 11. However we asked about WiFi and he told us there was business WiFi but he could not give us access in case it crashed on us so therefore there was no WiFi. He told us it might be...

This hotel is lovely! We stayed at the steer inn as we were attending a wedding near by, I was a bit apprehensive before we arrived due to some not nice reviews, but what a pleasant surprise we arrived with our 2 year old son and was greeted with a warm friendly welcome, through out our stay the owner went...

OMG First impression as you approach the Steer is that it looks like its in need of a little TLC. When you enter the car park you can see it needs more than that. When you enter the bar area to check in a pleasant surprise as this looks in good order and clean. We were asked to pay for...
