Stayed in this Travelodge as part of a mid-week break with foreign holiday's not happening this year. Location was fantastic and stay on reception upon check-in was very helpful. Covid measures seemed to be well managed as well. However, this is as good as it got. A £10 fee to have early check-in was particularly annoying considering our room was vacant & ready for our arrival. This has never happened at Premier Inn! The room was extremely warm and very uncomfortable, this was a major issue throughout the stay. There was also issues with the shower controls which weren't working until a staff member who wasn't particularly friendly physically forced the controls. Overall a poor stay. Will not be returning to Travelodge.
Hotel was clean and staff very helpful . It was in ideal location not too far to walk to everything and was easy to find and carpark around the corner . There was a Wetherspoons next too which was ideal for breakfast in a morning and wasn't too loud later on at night . We would all definitely stay again and would recommend to friends and family .
The hotel was lovely and clean. However the room was freezing. We closed the windows and but the heater on but it was timed so it would keep going off. When ready to get into bed we realised we were given a thin bed sheet for a duvet not to mention the bed was so low. It cost us £380 for two nights and I do kinda feel like it was a waste
We stayed in this Travelodge in May 2021 as part of a short trip we took to visit the city and explore some of the sights. While I can’t fault the location itself in terms of being able to get into the city centre and all the various attractions quickly, we found our stay quite disappointing. I appreciate that Travelodge is a budget hotel, however this particular location feels quite grubby and worn out. The lampshades in the bedroom were filthy and there were stains all over the bathroom sink and bath. The floors seemed quite dirty and even the kettle in the room was covered in dirt which considering the standard of clean they promise due to Covid was disappointing. The bedsheets and towels did seem very clean though but we were only left one in the room and had to go request additional ones from the front desk which wasn’t really a problem for us but I can imagine if you arrive late at night and just want a shower and bed would be frustrating. While there is prior warning about the Wetherspoons opposite, the windows are thin and the noise isn’t great. Perhaps more problematic however is the noise from the other residents. The walls are very thin and we were woken up at 4 am by the noise of other guests vomiting and shouting. All in all, while we acknowledge that you do get what you pay for, this particular Travelodge does fall beneath the standard that you usually expect from the company and I would probably avoid it in the future.…
Ok for the night while drinking in York and just about value for money, but me and my mate did notice a what we believed was a poo stain on the sheets and the bath wasn’t very clean and had pubic hairs in it!
