We had room 2 which was £100.00 for the night and the noise did not stop all night, people playing loud music in the street, arguing, motorbikes and traffic as well as ambulances with sirens until dawn and this was a Wednesday night. Breakfast only between 8.30 and 9.00 am. Room very small and cramped. Plus side the staff were... More

A well appointed pub with lots of interesting pictures and photos of times gone by on the walls. Nice beer and ale and friendly Cosey atmosphere. Menu looked good but I didn't eat. Nice to sit and read a paper which are provided. Very central off Gilligate and Bootham.

The Exhibition is ideally located as you are minutes away from the city centre and major attractions, having researched a good few places prior to booking we found that York is an expensive place to stay especially as they are attempting to lure back visitors post flooding however we decided on the exhibition as it was the best value. The... More

After sampling a couple of Yorks fine ales and also wanting to sit down on a busy Saturday on our visit to York, this was a brilliant find. £2 cheaper than a round for 3 in the Centre. Warm, friendly and the most amazing pint of rhubarb beer.

Visited on the 21st of November with my wife and brother and sister in law and had a great time, the hotel / pub is full of old world charm , the bar has a roaring fire and good selection of ales , we didn't eat here but the food did look good Bedroom was a bit tired but this... More

Me and my partner stayed at the exhibition on Monday night. We stayed in room 2 which was a bit noisy through the night with traffic as its in a busy road so would recommend a room at the back of the hotel. The exhibition was ideally located it was just a short walk into the centre. The rooms were... More

Visited here for the weekend with my partner. All the staff are really friendly and the hotel is full of character. We had a room on the front and I must say it is very noisy due to old windows at 5.30am I was woken up by a bin lorry and on the second night some drunk woman screaming. The... More

Great location only minutes from the Minster. Staff very helpful. Rooms and breakfast good. In the hot weather the beer garden was an excellent retreat. We also ate there and enjoyed the meals. A good place to stay if you are visiting York.

Stayed there twice now and both times were perfect, stayed in room 3 on both occasion (ask the second time for same room) over looking the main road which is busy as it is in the heart of the city centre, but this was explained to us whilst booking and due to the age and history of the building the...
