2020 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
The Parisi Hotel is a tiny boutique hotel with bags of character in York city centre. With only 11 rooms, we provide a truly personal service and our award-winning team is ready around the clock to give you as much or as little attention as you like. The building is unique; charming and historic, filled with original art, a mish mash of colours to create a warm and characterful place to relax. The hotel is handy for the train station or our on-site drop off area and plenty of nearby public parking options makes bringing your car simple. York’s fascinating history and culture is on the doorstep, with York Minster and the many historic houses, museums and galleries a short stroll away, not to mention many of York’s best independent restaurants, cafes and shops.

Booked 3 nights for my partners birthday earlier this month and arrived to a warm friendly welcome from Joanne who gave us a brief tour before showing us to our room - the first night we had a deluxe King room, which in truth is compact n bijou, however since you have free use of the Library/ Lounge with complimentary tea/ Coffee and can take your own bottle of your fave drink (they provide glasses and an ice bucket!) there isn't any reason to stay in the room other than to bathe, change or sleep!. And Julie was made up to find a birthday card from the team..nice touch! Thank You !. Situated inside the City walls the Hotel is on a quiet side road within spitting distance of the nearest Bars, Cafes and Restaurants! and a few minutes from the centre. We had booked "The Grand" room for our further 2 nights, so on day 2 wandered out exploring: the team not only moved our luggage but also sent us a text message to let us know when the room was ready! The Grand is just that!, beautifully decorated and spacious with windows overlooking the garden ..and (drum roll!) a free standing bath along with the en suite shower. I would absolutely recommend, availability, budget and/ or occasion allowing!. Plenty of choice at breakfast served in a light, spacious and comfortable area. And then there are the Team...Joanne, Hannah, Jenny, Sam and Nathan we met... all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and they made us feel special, so thank you all!. as I said.. possibly the best Hotel that we have ever stayed in!

Hotel's Favorite
Well done to all at The Parisi for an excellent stay. Upon arrival were met at the door and from then on all the staff were top class and did all they could to assist. Our room was very clean and well presented. We even found a packet of face cleansers which was a first in any hotel for us and an excellent little touch. The bed was very large and comfortable with good toiletries and complimentary bottled water in the Fridge and also real milk. The hot breakfast was made to order and very nice and well served again by the lovely staff. Overall a small boutique hotel with all amenities to a very high standard and a first class alternative to chain hotels and better value. Easy walk to City Centre and bus stops if required. Thank you to all.

We stayed for two nights in December and had a perfect stay. There are two main stand out features of this hotel - The breakfast was great both mornings and the service was both extremely friendly and professional. We were in and out quite a bit exploring York but each time we came in we were warmly greeted and offered tea / coffee in the sitting room with the open fire being lit if required. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, Hannah and Jenny have been exemplary. Charming, smiling and nothing too much trouble. Room very comfortable, very nice linen, towels, toiletries etc. Breakfast especially black pudding, yummy. Have no hesitation to recommend The Parisi to everybody, brilliant for the racing, museums, historical sights and shops.

Only a 20 minute walk from the station and within easy walking distance of everywhere else. Parisi will provide you with a list of nearby places to eat before you arrive but what they don’t tell you is that many really are within a stone’s throw of the hotel: Blue Barbakan, Khai San Road, Le Cochon Aveugle, El Gaucho, Il Paradiso Del Cibo, Cave du Cochon, Ambiente Tapas, Fossgate Social to name but a few, all of which look really inviting ie you are spoiled for choice. Jenny, Hannah and Joanne were perfect hosts. We chose a bedroom at the back in the belief that this would cut down on traffic noise though I am pretty certain that the rooms at the front would be quiet enough as the road at the front was not busy. Room 8 was a deluxe king with rather lovely yellow and gold colours, power shower, espresso pod machine and fridge with fresh milk and chilled water. Breakfast was a splendid affair with fresh fruit juices, fresh strawberries, yoghurts, honey and nuts with a full Yorkshire to follow if you are stocking up for the day ahead. We spent two nights at Hotel Parisi and came up with the following Top Ten for York... 1. York Minster - Second largest gothic cathedral in Europe. Simply stunning stained glass. Gorgeous Chapter House. A must. 2. York City Walls - Another must, especially the section that skirts the Minster 3. Shops - The Shambles obviously, but seriously there so many interesting independents everywhere 4. York Art Gallery - superb permanent collection with many more paintings by women artists than you would normally expect to find in a gallery 5. York’s Chocolate Story - The interactive story of Rowntree’s and Terry’s with lots of chocolate to taste as you go round. 6. Mansion House - another hugely enjoyable interactive experience, this one a story of York’s past in the grand home they built for their mayor. 7. Coffee Shops - very good flat whites at Brew and Brownie, Spring Espresso, and Harlequin 8. Wine Bars - Try the wine flights at Pairings on Castlegate 9. Restaurants - literally hundreds to choose from. We enjoyed Rustique and Loch Fyne, neither of which feature in the Tripadvisors Top 30 but both of which were very good. Most of York’s restaurants are small and intimate. Definitely worth booking ahead though, even in March 10. Things we didn’t have time to do - too many to mention eg Railway Museum, Jorvik Centre, Theatre Royal, Clifford’s Tower etc, etc
