fantastic place to stay. Staff were fabulous - so helpful on providing info / maps on where to go. Waiting staff a breakfast were so friendly and they just couldn't do enough for you. Further benefit is that you can park on site, albeit a overnight change but it is what it is and you are so close to the city centre (short walk) then it's understandable.

The hotel was ideally situated room lovely and plenty tea and coffee . Breakfast was great . Only complaint is car park not great difficult to get in and out and £10 charge per day I believe it should be included in price of room . We left car their for our 2 day visit incase we couldn’t get space when came back . This wouldn’t put me off staying again unless I wanted to use my car every day as don’t want worry off finding a space . Staff are credit to the hotel

Privately owned beautiful hotel, well worth a visit, staff polite friendly. We had the bunker room so quirky . We also booked an igloo. Short walk into York town centre. Ian on front of house cannot do enough for you.

I booked this stay as a birthday treat for my partner. I specifically called ahead to speak with a member of staff regarding which room to book for a free standing bath tub. I was told that a free standing bath tub was in each luxury room and therefore proceeded to book a luxury four poster room. Upon my arrival there was not a free standing bath tub in the room and I was disappointed with the room in general. It was definitely not luxury. Having brought this to the attention of a member of staff at reception they told me I had been given the wrong information over the phone but nothing could be done now. They explained that as I had not put a special request in that is why I did not have a room with a tub in, however if all rooms had one in as I was told there was no need to specially request this. This room was booked for a birthday treat and if I had known there was not a free standing bath tub I would not have booked a luxury room and would have gone elsewhere. No further apology was given. I will not be in a rush to book this hotel again.

Really nice hotel, beautiful outdoor area and very caring staff. We would like to say a special thanks to the host Wayne on our evening outdoors. He was warm, welcoming and charming. Thank you, very professional and deserves huge praise! A great hotel. Rooms were very clean and we had a great night sleep. Would recommend! Great stuff. PS: Breakfast was lovely as well! Nothing but praise for the place!
