We stopped by chance to grab a table outside for dinner as a last minute decision; a table was cleared, cleaned and prepared for us immediately to sit and order. Easy to order using a QR code and service was quickly and extremely friendly! Staff were lovely as was our meal! A lovely menu and a lovely setting!

After visiting with a large group the front of house staff member, Owen, went the extra length to ensure we were seated alongside being very polite and efficient. They are a great face and ambassador for the business. A great experience with great food.

Great centrally positioned hotel, except for Room no. 8 which has a very large skylight with no covering, along with an illuminated 'Fire Exit' sign on the bedroom wall. Assumed our room was the main exit for the other rooms on our floor, as on the top. Not a great way to try & sleep! Eventually managed to block the sign with cushions & a towel. However, the skylight shone through from around 4am! When we complained we were offered another room which we accepted. However, not once was the complaint & issues mentioned, acknowledged by the receptionist. Totally ignored! Next day, when we said how much better the new room was, again, no acknowledgment at all, apart from being told all rooms were same standard. Again, I repeated that the issues were not comparable to other rooms. Not a word!! Room 8 is not fit for purpose & in reality should not be sold as such. The receptionist clearly needs training in how to talk to customers.

We spent a delightful evening here. The outside space is very attractive; it had a pleasant and lively atmosphere but also quiet and relaxing. The food was superb, with generous portions. Service was friendly and efficient with special thanks to the young man on the gate, who hardly paused for a moment between greeting guests, tidying up and so on, whilst retaining a cheerful approach. We are looking forward to returning.

Room Tip: We didn’t book, but to secure a table at this lovely venue, I’d recommend doing so.

Stayed for 2 nights 15-17/6/21. Had 1 of the courtyard rooms - was small but had everything we needed. Given the pandemic, the room wasn’t serviced daily but we knew that in advance. And if we had needed anything we would only need to have asked. Breakfast was great and I preferred the table service aspect. Had a meal in one of the pods in the evening too - was delicious! Excellent location
