Travelers' Choice
York is a wonderful city, and Premier Inn Hotel York North puts you less than a mile away from the heart of it. You're a stone's throw from some great walks in Clifton Park and the River Ouse, as well as the businesses in and around York. See the majesty of York Minster, one of the country's greatest cathedrals. Or experience the history of steam at the National Rail Museum. Spend a day at the York Races, or wander through the Medieval Festival if you're here in August. After a bit of retail therapy in the buzzing city centre, come back to a meal and a great night's sleep.

Comfortable and clean, however, no air conditioning! Room temperature was 25.5 degrees with the window open all night. To hot to sleep. Cost £102. Had to pay for a flexi booking in order to spend some leisure voucher I got from work. Only way to use them was to present them in person so couldn’t take advantage of the £71 non flexi booking as I would normally. Lost the value of 1/2 of my vouchers paying the extra £31. What a con!

Hotel's Favorite
This comfortable and welcoming hotel is not as far from the city centre as it appears upon the map. We left our car parked here and walked in every day (along the road or riverside). Hotel to York Minster is only about a twenty-five minute walk and yet the hotel is in a pleasant, green, leafy suburb easily accessed off the A19. Our room was amazingly quiet with views over mature trees. The hotel offers everything which one would expect from a budget stay including fast, free wi-fi. The staff really are great! Front desk (thank you, Alex and Sam!) are welcoming and helpful and also a special thanks to Christine the friendly and knowledgeable housekeeper!

We had a one night mid-week stay at the Premier Inn York – North, Clifton Park Avenue, Shipton Road York at the end of May, to explore the City and nearby area. We arrived at the Hotel at 10am although check in for the room is not available until 2pm on the day of arrival, but were told that it is was not a problem to leave the car in the Hotel’s large car park which is free to residents after registering its number on the hotel’s parking system. We then walked the short distance to the main road to catch the convenient, frequent Number 2A circular bus service which operates to and from the City centre every 10 minutes throughout the day (journey time about 15 minutes). Pick up and drop off from the same stop close to the Minster at the Museum Street stop. The hotel room we had was on the first floor with an opening window for ventilation and a bathroom with shower cubicle but no bath. The Hotel rooms are not air conditioned but heating is available by means of wall mounted electric radiators. The bedroom was tidy and clean with a television, kettle and tea making facilities. The taps on the hand basin in the bathroom and the shower cubicle both leaked water when used. The Hotel has no in house restaurant but there is a restaurant (The Dormouse) adjacent to it. Breakfast is available in the hotels own breakfast room with pre booked time slots available. We had pre booked online for dinner at 7pm at the next door Vintage Inns Dormouse restaurant, with its indoor and outdoor dining opportunities. Good value for money basic Premier Inn with free parking conveniently situated to visit the City.

Bedrooms and in particular bathrooms are tired and not cleaned to the standard expected. Great parking facilities (free) and a pub on site but the dining room within premier inn for breakfast is tiny.

There was no toilet paper in the room when we arrived. It was supplied when we went and collected some from reception but the container would not open when the latch was pressed. The bathroom floor became awash with water before we ever used the shower. We showed the duty manager the first night. It flooded several times during our stay. We suspect that when another room used their shower our floor was flooded. The water appeared to come from where the rust marks were so we suspect has gone on for ages. We booked a 9 am breakfast well in advance of our arrival. On 31/5/21 we turned up at 9am to be told breakfast was very delayed and we could try returning and queueing at 9.45 but no guarantees. Breakfast was very delayed and cooked food only appeared at 10.45 and there were no mushrooms. The hashbrowns only appeared after we had finished eating at about 11.10. Although the checkout time was 12 our keycard did not work for us to go back to our room after breakfast at 11.30. The replacement card reception issued did not work either so the receptionist went upstairs and let us into our room. We paid £235 for the 2 nights with breakfasts and do not think that we received appropriate accommodation and meals
