Now part of the National Trust - all profits donated to the charity. Overlooking York Racecourse, Middlethorpe Hall is close to the city of York yet enjoys 20 acres of its own peaceful gardens and parkland. It has an award-winning restaurant, the Oak Dining Room, and a heavenly spa with swimming pool. Decorated in traditional country house style, Middlethorpe is furnished with antiques and fine paintings consistent with the period of the house. Beautifully appointed bedrooms are located in the main house and the 18th-century courtyard.

It would take about 35/45 minutes to walk to the centre of York from Middlethorpe Hall - a pleasant leisurely walk first along the race track and then along the river Ouse. There is also a bus service every 30 minutes on weekdays. I hope this is helpful and please let me know if you require any further assistance.

Thank you for your further message. As an hotel, restaurant and spa, Middlethorpe Hall is not part of this specific National Trust scheme. Please refer to the National Trust handbook which is published annually for further details. I hope the above is helpful.

Thank you for your further message. Middlethorpe Hall is not a property for visitor to come and discover/tour as an 'attraction' but a working hotel. Some of the ground floor rooms are available for guests to dine or take afternoon tea. I hope this is helpful

Good evening and thank you for your message. A National Trust published book is available to purchase at the reception desk, describing the history of the hall and its gardens.

Hi Yes there's an hourly bus service from just outside the hotel to the centre of York which takes about 15 to 20 minutes. There are no nearby restaurants but York is very close by. You can walk to the centre in about 45 minutes
