The hotel should really stress that there is only a small amount of parking spaces. It was suggested to us to go as far as the racecourse to park as we were early. Helpful but its a fair walk. The room really wasnt worth the 175 for 2 nights on a room only basis (full breakfast £9.00 perhead per day).... More

This is our second visit here 3 years apart . The original part of the mansion house is stunning with amazing art nouveau features throughout. Reception and the main hall are beautiful with large comfy sofas and even a friendly cat . The bar & restaurant prices are fantastic and food was lovely . We had a breakfast deal as... More

The superior room on which we booked was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The room could have been slightly cleaner the meals were very nice Indeed. The main hotel could do with updating and especially the tartan carpet in the passage way. Still this hotel is very near the city centre and a short taxi ride away... More

I've been coming here for three years with my partner. We spent yesterday in one of the new modern rooms in the extension and must say it was a disappointment. The lighting and the spot lights are so bright it felt so clinical. The room really detracts from the lovely warm cosy feel of the rest of the hotel. We... More

Spent 3 nights here in September 2016, overall the hotel was good enough for the price but nothing special and in need of an update. Positive points - good location 20 min walk from city centre or a short taxi ride, with bus stops nearby to the hotel. Breakfast was nice though pretty basic. Friendly staff. Good sized bedroom. Negative... More

Shabby round the edges Dont borrow the iron Buy breakfast the sainsburys up the road Some of the lodge rooms are huge with even bigger windows but everything else is a bit grubby and cracked. The price for a bank holiday was ok, thats basically the only reason we booked it.

Stayed here for two nights mid week at the end of August to celebrate our engagement. First impressions were good, the hotel has some lovely features. However, as we unpacked, we realised that the room looked like it had not been properly cleaned for a long time. The bed and bathroom etc. looked fine but the shelf in the wardrobe... More

Came with the girlfriend for a weekend getaway and I was blown away. We booked a superior double room and it was exactly to our liking, the bed was really comfy and the walk in shower was sublime. Everything was squeaky clean and the staff were very welcoming and informative. Breakfast was amazing and couldn't have asked for a netter... More

We had a rather unpleasant night at the Elmbank Hotel. Our room (205) had a very musty odour, and was located under a staircase so every time someone walked up the stairs we were disrupted. The mattresses were old and uncomfortable, when you lay down the mattress curled in around you so we both woke up with sore backs. Also... More
