Visited for afternoon tea Very poor quality Gluten free options were all shop bought except the sandwiches. The gluten free cakes were small cubes of a shop bought slice - which is fine if your at home but not when you are buying afternoon tea. Had to ask for hot water for drinks and only one pot of tea between... More

Had a very pleasant few days at the Churchill hotel. The staff are very good and can't do enough for you. The hotel decor is as the name suggests Churchill based. The room was fine with comfy beds and nice bathroom. The only downside was the worn carpet and the noise of the heating/air conditioning. The food was very nice... More

Beautiful room, worth the £20 upgrade! Free WiFi, shower and bath separate, TV in the bath. Lots of stairs to navigate. On site parking for about 25 cars located behind the hotel itself. Slightly noisy with thin walls/ceilings but the massive super comfy bed more than makes up for it. Fridge and safe tucked in a wardrobe. Air con not... More

The location is very good, the car parking is only for approx 18 cars and during our two night stay a huge van loaded with bikers, a smaller van and one of their cars was parked all day thus preventing other residents from parking. Also made worse by residents checkin out then leaving the car to walk back into York.The... More

Dear Ettyspagetti Many thanks for your review. At present, spaces in our car park, although free of charge, are all available on a first come, first served basis. The cyclists were attending a day conference at the hotel. I trust you enjoyed your time in our great city and we look forward to welcoming you back. Regards Suzanne More

Our visit was very pleasant in every way; the only snag was that our room (No.24) was on the top floor and although the lift travelled to the top floor, there was still a small flight of 4 steps up to our floor. When booking the hotel, I specified that my wife is slightly disabled and has problems climbing and... More
