I booked a nights stay at the Old Vic purely based on reviews I read on Trip Advisor. The Old Vic was the perfect place for us to stay and we will definitely be returning to see Julie & Terry who were excellent hosts. We arrived early and allowed access to the room as it was ready for occupancy which...

Very nice couple informative and attentive, breakfast was excellent with good choice, room and bed were nice clean and comfy, would like to try another room next time as this one was slightly small with only one bedside cabinet and no chair, maybe just a change around of furniture would do it as anyone who is working with a laptop would find a chair...

We have just returned from our first visit to York for a weekend. We booked a nights stay at the Old Vic based on reviews we had seen on Trip Advisor. We tend to prefer staying at guest houses rather than an anodyne Travel Inn or similar as we prefer a more personal and characterful place to stay. The Old...

Excellent traditional cooked English breakfast. Clean and comfortable. My single room was just big enough and I struggled to get evenly warm water from the shower, but...

This is the best place my mum & I have stayed at. It's a lovely family run guest house and they are extremely warm and welcoming. Anything you need they are immensely obliging. The breakfast is fab and for myself I enjoyed the vegetarian option which was an added bonus as I've stayed in many places who do not offer...

The owners are really friendly. The room really nice clean and tidy. The dog is nice and gentle. It's only a 15 minute walk from the city centre. I definitely recommend it to a friend or family member.

It's a bit out from the old city (5 minute walk to Clifford's Tower, then another 10 to the Minster) but the location is still well situated and in a lovely area. Our room was on the second floor, and was well appointed if a bit cramped for a triple. The hot water was plentiful and truly hot. Breakfast was...
