Exactly what we wanted something reasonably priced within walking distance of york. Went to visit the city with my girlfriend for 3 nights. Room was clean the staff were friendly i liked the pub down stairs and the locals but I can understand it wouldn't be everyones cup o' tea. Only thing i would say is the room had no...

Very old accomodation. Poor toilet conditions and bad shower pressure. Bed was good and the floor is very cracky and sloppy. Ok to spend 1 night or 2 but no more than that. It is very noisy at night but its close to city centre and the owner is very nice and helpful.

Have just spent 2 nights away at The Old Grey Mare and our stay there was superb. The landlord was extremely friendly and very accommodating. Our rooms were a good size, clean with fresh towels,tv & tea & coffee making facilities. The pub had a great atmosphere with friendly staff & was an excellent base. Just a 10 minute walk to...

Received a £60 gift voucher as a birthday gift for this hotel, emailed the hotel to ask what would happen to the remaining £20 of my gift voucher as the room I wanted was only £40. Got a RUDE reply back saying the hotel did not issue gift vouchers. I continued to send them an email back with photos of...

10-minute away from the riff-raff of the city centre, you'll find this accessible yet secluded enough to feel like you have your own bit of town. It's a fairly traditional pub with modernised accommodation upstairs. It has a pool table, and the pub is quite homely. Rooms are small but comfortable and have everything you need, including tea and coffee...

I stayed here for 2 nights over Christmas week and had a nice stay. Our room had 2 single beds in and was clean, the bathroom was small but adequate for what we needed. The breakfast was tea, coffee, toast, eggs, cheese, ham and toast, you just get what you want which was quite nice. The main problem I had...

Family of 4 paid 180 for a Saturday night stay. One tiny freezing cold bathroom and 4 broken beds. The bedding was shabby and old and on the smaller beds the bottom sheet did not fit properly so came off. Pillows smelt of smoke. No remote for the tv (laminated paper said people steal them....why on earth would someone steal...
