Enjoyed our weekend at the Hillcrest Guest House. Great location, only a short walk into the city. Staff was very friendly, food delicious. Bedroom clean, warm and very quiet bed was very comfortable.

Just returned from a two night mini break to York. This was our first trip to York and we took ages deciding where to stay, the choice was endless! After much deliberation we decided to book the Hillcrest, and so glad we did. Well located only a short walk to the centre and attractions such as the train museum which...

I am afraid to say we were expecting a little more. We chose this B&B family room that was a little more pricey so that we could truly enjoy our stay in York. Yes it was close to all of the attractions and the host was lovely and she attended to all our needs. She was the one big positive. I...

We had a very warm welcome from Lena...she's cooks a great breakfast in the morning!! She recommended some good places to eat and visit too. Our room was clean and tidy and the free parking at the back of the guest house was great too.

Owner lovely and very helpful, breakfast delicious and location great. Our room needed a lick of paint and extra pillows and our friends' was way too warm 'cos the window didn't open and no air conditioning. Overall it did what we needed it to do and I would recommend it for a weekend away.

We decided to have a weekend in York and found this fantastic B&B. it really is a home from home. Lena the owner gives a very warm welcome and dishes up a brilliant breakfast. We stayed in a family room which was lovely and had everything we needed. York centre is literally a 10 min stroll away. The B&B has...

We stayed overnight in May, the place wasn't busy but we were given a very small, cold room, nowhere to put our suitcases (we were on route to holiday abroad) the host was very pleasant on arrival but going down for breakfast 30 mins before time stated for breakfast to finish, she was quite rude, got the feeling she didn't...
