Just to be aware - the booking conditions for Sandpiper House are that they take a deposit for the first night, which is non-refundable, even though (as in our case, and unavoidably) you have to cancel. Even though we did not visit the Sandpiper, I`ve given them an "average" three stars, so as not to prejudice their Trip Adviser rating... More

You simply can't fault this lovely little guest house. A warm, friendly welcome always awaits you and just the best breakfast, lots of choice and beautifully presented. The room was warm and cosy despite the fall!ing temperatures.

Stayed here back in August for a 3 night break in the first floor double. The location was very good & a few minutes into the town. But enjoyed a quiet location & no problem parking used our pass permit for space outside which Peter sorted....perfect.The first floor double was adequate for a 3 night break but no longer as wardrobe space... Sandpiper House is situated quite near the beach and Whitby centre. We had a warm welcome from Peter. Our room on the ground floor was very nicely decorated. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided and bottled water which unfortunately was not replaced the second day. The room was clean except we had to move the bedside cabinet and it hadn't... More

A very comfortable stay - excellent breakfast with an extensive choice of food and great room, with everything working properly. This was my fourth stay here and Peter and Manetta never fail to be welcoming and helpful.

We love Whitby and have been many times. Anyone familiar with Whitby will know parking is at a premium. Sandpiper House has rooms with allocated parking spaces. We were warmly greeted by Peter and shown to a nicely decorated room. The bathroom was of good quality. Not a great view but you could see the Abbey behind the chimney pots... More

We had a wonderful 3 night stay, October 4-7 2017. Excellent location! Room 1 was quiet and comfortable and had lots of hot water. We enjoyed smoked salmon every morning for breakfast, after fruit and yoghurt. The owners were very welcoming and caring. We would certainly return and recomment it to others.
