Visited over English half term, bar area was busy, but soon got served and a seat, prices were reasonable, staff were pleasant and friendly. Great atmosphere, toilets clean and well stocked, lunch on the Saturday was a disappointment though, chips ordered as a side were disgusting, greasy, overcooked and all bits. Soup was lovely though. Dog and muddy boot friendly.

The Pier Inn is in ideal place on the west side of the harbour and is handy for shops and restaurants. Like most other hotels in Whitby their is no car parking and council car parks have to be used. We were in room number 6 which was on the 3rd floor and overlooked the harbour. The room was small,...

Nice pub with outside seating for when the weather is good. Decent pint served with a good choice of beer. Needs a bit of an upgrade, tables and chairs looking a bit shabby. Reasonably priced but there are better pubs in Whitby.

Great food presented well hot and delicious many compliments great value, however later on evening we witnessed the female member very rude to customer and earlier in our visit. We watched a bouncer physically remove the male barman from the pub after he was drunk and smashing bottles in main area we left with our family. Looks amazing on site...

My wife and I stayed at the wonderful Pier Inn in Whitby for just one night. With so much to do in and around Whitby it wasn't long enough. Overlooking the harbour, this quaint atmospheric inn was perfect for our stay. Famous for fish(and chips!), the menu was big enough to suit all gastronomic desires. I would recommend the chefs...

We went for two nights, 7thFeb/9thFeb aa it was a little break for our 20th anniversary. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable. We found the stairs really awkward, especially with our suit cases, but the staff were very eager to help. The only gripe we had was, as there were hooks missing from the curtains...

Lovely greeting by all the staff, nice size modern room... although during the night both me and my partner were unsettled as we felt a presence in the room. A ghostly presence. Thinking nothing of it we soon went back to sleep, only to be awoken to a tall dark figure standing over the bed. Lovely breakfast would stay again.

This is an odd one, I have so much praise for this place, lovely staff who show you to your room and give you information on the place and area, fabulous, friendly pub. The room was clean with an amazing view (truly amazing). Good choice for breakfast and efficient service. 10 out of 10 for location. However, I didn't sleep....
