This hotel is an absolute gem. From our arrival to leaving the staff were a credit to the management.Breakfast was served in a room overlooking the valley. The food was exceptional both in the morning and in the evening in the restaurant. The rooms are "Stables" ...each one was different. We were in Stable 1 and this included a wet room shower which... My wife and I stay stayed at Cross Butts on our way to Scotland. We stayed in the the "stables"?. Underfloor heating very clean and pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good with good choice of food, could hear traffic noise as situated on a busy roundabout if sitting out. Would stay at Cross Butts again.

We had just an overnight stay. The room was comfortable as was the bed. Although I do feel that some attention to details is required - we had a a welcoming letter to someone's wedding! We also had just one bathrobe - though that was lovely - not a hard towelling one but a lovely fluffy fleece one. I think... More

Great service - can't say how nice these guys are, all of them - even when we arrive after hours on a Friday night they find us a table and don't rush us. Great food, home cooked - epic local meats and what I suspect are home grown vegetables, if not they are certainly local as they taste wonderful.

We stayed 2 nights in April in room 2 it was gorgeous. A large room with beautiful dark wooden furniture and a very comfortable bed with high quality linen. The window looked out on to the pretty courtyard therefore there was no noise during the night and we slept well. The bathroom was very spacious with a large shower and... More

Stayed at the Stables after our trip on the Flying Scotsman. Couldn't fault it at all, the room was amazing under floor heating complimentary truffles and Prosecco very cosy. The meals were spot on, had dinner and breakfast. Great setting, handy for Whitby. Will be back again, thank you.
