Stayed here for one Sunday night which was enough.. Check in was pretty standard. For £50 we walked up to the top floor (shared bathroom) and got greeted by a room that just fit in the double bed and some 'walk around' space.. Wardrobe, 'dressing table' (seat was too low so the Mrs had to stand to get ready). We... More

Booked at very short notice, as we had decided to stay another night, and the one we stayed in prior to this wasn't too good! The lady we booked with couldn't have been more helpful, she showed us up to the room to see if we liked it before booking, as we had been very disapointed previously. The room was... More

I booked this hotel as I was coming to Whitby with a friend for an overnight stay, and it looked cheap and cheerful.I didn't want a lot from the room, as long as it was hygienic and I had somewhere to sleep I was happy. Check in was ok, nobody was on the desk so I had to go down... More

By some margin this is the worst hotel we've ever stayed in ,Our room at the front of the hotel overlooks the bus station and a busy main road ,so sleep after 6 am is impossible . The single glazed window that looks out from the room didn't fit properly ,so offers nothing in the way of noise reduction .The... More

My partner and I stayed at the George. On arrival we was made very welcome and given our room key. This is a very old building so there are stairs to climb and I didn't see any lifts so I would imagine this is not the ideal place for people with walking disabilities. Our room was cosy with small en suite... Excellent nights stay at this lively hotel. The epitome of Whitby. A traditional building with an interior to match. Excellent bar and very reasonable prices. Entertainment provided - the band were brilliant. Hotel rooms were clean and tidy with all the essentials in place. The hotel is opposite the train station- could not be more central. We visited with our... More
