Lovely site with friendly warden and 'regular' static caravan owners. Food in the adjacent Ugthorpe Lodge Hotel was excellent and great value for money (apart from the rather overpriced sweets after the Sunday carvery) with friendly and helpful staff - proper pub! Good base to explore the nearby coast of the North Yorks Moors. The only downside were the outdated... More

Stayed here as a base with my 2 kids to explore the local area Not much to do for the kids however a small park is on sight and lots of room to run around ,there is a games room but not much in there Toilets and showers are very basic however its does have hot water The site is... More

Warden was very helpful and allowed us on site before time. Pitch was good and everything fine apart from shower blocks which are a bit primitive. The food in the Lodge was great - lovely home cooking! Beer left a bit to be desired for me as I am not a Tetley's Fan

We managed to get a spot here at a busy time. The site itself was well-kept but the facilities were poor. The men's showers and their see-through curtains are off putting. Women's toilets were ok but showers needed updating. Please can UK campsites provide the large squeegee sticks so that people can scrape out the mud and hair after their... More

Stayed here with our caravan for a few nights. Easy to find being on main road. Warden was quite friendly and allocated us our pitch and directed us to it. That was the last we saw of him. The site itself is nice but afraid I cannot say that about the facilities which are dated, dirty although cleaned daily . We... More

We stayed for two nights in a Shepherd's Hut which is situated at the far end of the park (which does require quite a walk to the toilet/shower facilities). The were fortunate to be the only ones booked into the huts for our stay so had that end of the park virtually to ourselves so it was very quiet and... More

A friendly site with a pub that serves good food to eat in or takeaway. We went with the "in laws" the bus to whitby stops right outside the site (£3.50). The toilets & showers are clean but could maybe do with a lick of paint. Overall a very good weekend & we will be going back the next time... More

After a disaster with a booking down the road at another site, we drove passed Ugthorpe Lodge and saw the pods for hire. We weren't disappointed!! We spent two nights in the brand new shepherds hut (ours had a log burner too and full electric) and we had a brilliant two days. They were very accommodating and the facilities were... More

Just had a splendid Easter break at Ugthorpe, good facilities, friendly staff and caters for all age groups, highly recommended for anyone wanting a long or short break on the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
