As we were not long enough in the area we could only sample the quiz night. The pub was nice and warm on a cold night. Everywhere looked fresh and clean. The young couple who run the pub were very efficient, pleasant and welcoming - natural hosts who obviously work hard to create this atmosphere. The locals were also friendly...

Had Sunday lunch with my husband, son and his girlfriend. We were accomadated by friendly staff despite not booking and the restaurant being busy. All meals were fresh, hot and very tasty with a good selection of fresh veg. I had the lamb and others had the beef which were all cooked beautifully. My son had the Wensleydale and sweet...

I have stayed here on a few occasions over the last 3 years , it is absolutely fabulous with lovely rooms , great food and drink with staff that cannot do enough for you . Only a short distance from Whitby centre , around £8 for a taxi . A real gem of a place .

With an extra thank you to Mikey and Maddie, charming charming staff. We all eat there on the evening,...

Stayed at The Forge for 1 night. Really lovely rooms, spotlessly clean. Nice little bar area serving really nice food and to top it all off a nice log burner and excellent beer on tap. One to recommend and we will stay again

A friendly welcome, clean rooms, friendly bar and a lovely view. Food was good too, no small thing when you're a fussy eater and a vegan. Last star missing only because of the tiny telly and the chilly room when we walked in (quickly sorted by turning the heater on). Brilliant.

The room was very cold upon entering and would have benefited from the wall mounted heater being put on an hour...
