Beautiful hotel full of character very large on-suite bedroom with tea/coffee hot chocolate and biscuits. Staff friendly and helpful couldn't fault the food. Lock up car parking available across the street. Great location on West Cliff five minutes or a lazy ten minute walk for the older end down a steep hill or by steps.

Great hotel, 10 minute walk from town centre (lots of steps). Very friendly staff in all departments. We didn't have an evening meal here but if we eve staying longer we would have, the menus changed daily and food smelled amazing. The room WA sclean and had good quality bed sheets and towels, powerful shower and everything we needed (... More

Stayed in July with my husband and loved the vintage feel to the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly at all times and the food and service in the restaurant was excellent. It felt very much like a traditional hotel but to be honest that is no bad thing. Felt fully relaxed after a 3 night stay and ready... More

An excellent hotel. Yes the décor is a little dated, but all is in excellent condition and it adds to this old established hotel . Everything is immaculate and in exactly the right place., The bed line is of a good quality. We ate there both evenings and the food was very, very good. The staff are helpful, and attentive.... I must tell you how lovely this hotel really is. We stayed in this hotel for a week. It was excellent, clean and smart. The history of the place grabbed us immediately, seeing it had a blue plaque on the wall in honour of its more literary friend, Storm-Jameson. We had a wonderful time, and chose to dine there on... When the four of us chose the Saxonville Hotel in Ladysmith Avenue for our weekend in Whitby, we were influenced not only by its reputation but also the availability of admittedly limited off-street parking. It proved to be a good choice. The accommodation was fine, breakfast was superb and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. In addition, we could walk... More

We have just come home from a couple of days stay here. The staff were so friendly, polite and courteous at all times, made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent with a very good selection at each meal time. The room was very spacious and spotless as was the whole hotel. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Thanks again..

I stayed here on my own and can hardly fault it. Hotel is 2 mins walk to cliff side and approx 20 mins to harbour. The open top bus stops 200yards from hotel so for £6 can go all over for 24hrs. Hotel staff lovely and the food was spectacular. I ate at night as well as breakfast and can't... More

We stayed at the Saxonville for one night-£138 B+B- reduced rate for paying in advance. Lady who welcomed us was lovely and very helpful but it felt a bit like you were coming to stay in her hotel and it would be better to obey the house rules. Double room spotless- staff obviously take pride in their hotel. However, very... More
