When the four of us chose the Saxonville Hotel in Ladysmith Avenue for our weekend in Whitby, we were influenced not only by its reputation but also the availability of admittedly limited off-street parking. It proved to be a good choice. The accommodation was fine, breakfast was superb and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. In addition, we could walk... More

We have just come home from a couple of days stay here. The staff were so friendly, polite and courteous at all times, made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent with a very good selection at each meal time. The room was very spacious and spotless as was the whole hotel. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Thanks again..

I stayed here on my own and can hardly fault it. Hotel is 2 mins walk to cliff side and approx 20 mins to harbour. The open top bus stops 200yards from hotel so for £6 can go all over for 24hrs. Hotel staff lovely and the food was spectacular. I ate at night as well as breakfast and can't... More

We stayed at the Saxonville for one night-£138 B+B- reduced rate for paying in advance. Lady who welcomed us was lovely and very helpful but it felt a bit like you were coming to stay in her hotel and it would be better to obey the house rules. Double room spotless- staff obviously take pride in their hotel. However, very... More

If you are looking for a traditional seaside hotel this is for you. Dated but spotlessly clean. Two things I would change are the curtains unless of course you like waking up with the sun and although carpet doesn't surround the toilet it's close enough - I don't think there should ever be carpet in a bathroom. Oh there is... More

Just wanted a short break by the sea. Booked this hotel without any knowledge or recommendations. We were not disappointed. First impressions were of the cleanliness of the hotel in the public rooms and our bedroom and bathroom. We had booked dinner bed and breakfast. Dinners were very good, as was the service. Breakfasts were just as good as the... More

Stayed here in early July. Property and rooms are very dated and in need of upgrading. Wifi not available in room, had to go to lobby. Good breakfast with pleasant waitstaff. Younger people at desk are friendly, older ones quite standoffish. Property is about a fifteen minute walk into tourist area, a pleasant walk along the sea in nice weather,... More

We enjoyed our last visit and our coach company were doing another trip so we came back. The rooms are clean and we were on the top floor but wasn't too far to get up to. Meals were really good and most of the staff were here last time we came. It isn't far to walk to the front, and... More

An exceptionally clean and quiet pleasant stay over an impromptu weekend. Beautiful rooms, clean, quiet and immaculately presented. The staff front of house were amazing and throughout. Courteous, efficient and polite. Everything you would expect from a *** establishment. Well done guys and girls and more than happy to stay again. Thank you for s wonderful week weekend.
