Very atmospheric place with bags of old world charm. Open fire, exposed stone, brickwork and beams. Warm and cosy. Good selection of beer and wine available. Very nice menu with specials, good food and service. Clean toilets as well.
Have stayed here 3 times now. Staff lovely and food amazing. Oysters were very fresh. Nicely decorated and clean. Still haven’t seen the ghost though! Would recommend. No parking but car park down the road next to the harbour is reasonably priced.
Excellent food absolutely mouth watering. Staff professional and welcoming. Great atmosphere great ambience. Highly recommended. Location central close to all amenities. Good selection of fine wines and real ale.

We popped into the white horse & griffin whilst on a short break to Whitby. We were quite late for lunch but all the staff were very welcoming. The fish and chips we both had was lovely. A pint of black sheep certainly helped also!....More
