We spent 2 nights in room 10 of the annex and it was a lovely treat- we would normally stay in budget accommodation but this stay was a greatly appreciated gift from the in-laws! The hotel is very picturesque and the four poster bed is a luxurious touch... However, my only gripe is that we are not fans of the... More

This is the second New Years eve we have spent at Bagdale. Last year in the lodge and this year in the annexe, No 4. What a lovely room. A wonderful 4 poster bed beautiful clean bathroom with both bath or shower...what more could you ask for! Excellent staff who are very friendly and welcoming and a fantastic breakfast. Central... Just back from an overnight stay at the Bagdale, we stayed in room 10 in the No 4 annex. The place comes with its own stories but that aside we had no problems with the unexplained! The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. We had the full English at breakfast which was nice, the rooms were a little tired... More

We stayed here on a birthday treat August 1st. We were delighted to see how beautiful the hotel main building was and how genuinely friendly the staff were. Unfortunately, we were in room 30 of the annex, which is a very small room, uncomfortably warm at nights and blighted by noisy nesting seagulls 24 hours a day. Plastic cups in... More

We stayed in "No. 4" for 3 nights. The location was perfect with the bonus for Whitby of a good car park. It was also close to the railway station and the harbour. The hotel was quaint and the dining room was lovely. We ate there on our first night and could not fault the food. The restaurant was very... More

Just returned from a weekend in Whitby staying at the Bagdale annexe. The hotel/annexe is in a great location, within a few minutes of level walking to the town and harbour area. Our room number 9 was on the groundfloor was a good size. It was clean and the bed very comfortable, although I'm not overly keen on four poster... More

Great location for the town centre and a big room and comfortable bed, that's were it ends. Front and rear of building in disrepair. Room needs upgrading to reflect the price tag of £170 we paid. Breakfast very poor, undercooked bacon, over cooked black pudding, tin mushrooms, the two breakfasts for my wife and I had to completely different sausages... More

Pleasant reception staff. My husband and I spent a night here. I found the room large and the bathroom was really nice. The four poster bed made the room, the decor was poor with chipped paint and stained carpets and the room needed dusting as the mantelpiece was full of dust. We had the breakfast and the service was good.... More
