Riviera Guesthouse is a friendly, family run guesthouse with stunning panoramic views over the North Sea. The views stretch from the next Bay (Sandsend) across the sea to Whitby Harbour Entrance. The Guesthouse is a stone's throw away from the sandy beach & within walking distance of the town with it's vibrant fishing harbour, beautiful and unique shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions (e.g., Captain Cooks Museum, the Dracula Experience, boat trips & Whitby Abbey with its famous 199 steps). The majority of the rooms are sea facing & have en-suite facilities, LCD TVs, refreshment trays & large white fluffy towels. The breakfast dining rooms have 'floor to ceiling' bay windows with stunning sea views - a fantastic environment to fill your tummy (cooked and continental breakfast inclusive in the price)! Riviera Guesthouse's commitment to guest satisfaction has been recognised by receiving awards from TripAdvisor, LateRooms & Trivago, the most recent being TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2016, LateRooms 'Simply the Guest' Award 2016 & Trivago 'Rated Excellent' Award 2015. Riviera Guesthouse looks forward to continuing to uphold the standards in the months and years to come.

A fantastic stay. Large, comfortable and warm room. The friendliest of hosts. Amazing location. I simply can't recommend it enough. The guesthouse is literally minutes walking from the pavilion, the beach, town center. It has a commanding view from one headland to the other. My

Just back from our second visit to the hotel this year. Been coming twice a year for the last four years. My husband is disabled and struggles with a lot of stairs, so we had a lovely large sea-facing room on the 1st floor. Very comfortable, clean and spacious with fantastic

Well what can I say, another fab Steampunk weekend has been and gone at Whitby and staying with the lovely Khan family again with Emma and Zed. Known these for a few years now. Their hospitality is second to none. The minute we walked through the door on Friday the banter

We arrived at the guesthouse on Friday and we’re very pleased with the view from our room and how clean it was. We paid £90 per night for a loft room with breakfast. Sadly the shower didn’t reach a good temperature and was just warm both mornings. The sink tap ran hot so it

Thank you so much Bethany for your review, we really appreciate the time you have taken to share your experience. We're so pleased you enjoyed the view, cleanliness and location. We're sorry to hear that you had issues with the shower. A few years back, we had pressure issues therefore had a full pipework change a couple of years back which has solved the pressure issue and we haven't had any issues since. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will closely monitor this shower as it maybe a thermostat issue. Thank you for your comments regarding breakfast, all have been taken on board :-) We would love to welcome you back in the future. Best wishes, Emma (Riviera, Whitby)

Unfortunately we do not allow dogs at the Guesthouse. We have sadly had some bad experiences which has caused us to set a 'no dog' policy for the comfort of the rest of our guests. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Best wishes, Emma (Riviera, Whitby)

Whitby is a controlled parking zone therefore there are two options for parking: Pay & Display Zone From 1st March to 31st October, outside the front of the Guesthouse (along the sea front), is a Pay & Display Zone. Between these dates, it will cost £6 per day to park your vehicle. Outside of these dates, the machines are out of service, therefore it is free to park your vehicle. Disabled badge holders are exempt from payment. Disc Zone The majority of guests prefer to park in the Disc Zones around Whitby, especially throughout high season. There are many Disc Zones surrounding the Guesthouse which are all clearly signposted. To park in the Disc Zones, you will need to display a permit (scratchcard) in your front window. These can be obtained from the Guesthouse, on arrival, at the cost of 50p. These permits last up to 4 days, at which point they expire. If you are staying longer than 4 days, you will need to obtain a new permit from the Guesthouse. This scheme is in place throughout the whole year and traffic wardens do patrol the area out of season. I hope this answers your question. If you would like any further advice then please do not hesitate to call us on 01947 602533. Many thanks Emma Riviera, Whitby
