Truely awful. Staff patronising and don't have a clue want is going on, one says one thing another says another. Tired, dated, dirty, not worth the money, rooms look cheap and not as some of the images online. Have stayed in many hotels in Norwich...More
The ornately Baroque exterior of the hotel looks at first seventeenth century, though it was built in 1905 as the HQ for an insurance company. In the 1930s it became a telephone exchange, and later stood derelict for many years until becoming a hotel about...More
Every year we spend two days shopping in Norwich and stay over for a meal. We decided to change from our usual hotel and picked St Giles as it was central with a restaurant. Unfortunately we were called in the afternoon after checking in to...More
Lovely setting. Sadly the afternoon tea did not live up to its setting. The tea was plentiful and good. The sandwiches were pleasant as were the cakes. However, the scones were sadly unacceptable. They were dry and still cold (as if frozen) in the middle....More

The gated secure car park is behind the hotel, accessed via Pottergate. It is free and owned by the hotel and normally has more than sufficient spaces for each of the 24 rooms. First come first served - no reservations possible. However, it can get full if there is a function or spa party. Pay and display has to be used in Pottergate or St Giles St until a space comes free behind the hotel. Best fone the hotel before booking to check if a function is on if parking is important.
